Tbh,I don’t think the isles is the type of game to focus on gameplay loops but it definitely should,it’s the one reason I see Pot gameplay as superior because of the more fun gameplay loop.

One thing I don’t see people talking about are the differences between the Shant Model and the Shant model Concept art. The dermal scute pattern is the main thing they changed it seems. In the concept art, the Shant had these scutes that ran along its back that looked like its spine was going through its skin, but it was just the scutes that met back up with the hump on the back of the Shant. I thought that made it look fire but the model seems to be missing it for some reason.

I’m creating a game after I quit my job that’s going to be my own take of animal survival genre. Here’s some random ideas I have jotted down. 2 humans and 5 animals survive against other forces of the same amount amount. The humans can build things such as weapons and armor for the animals and themselves. They can also construct homes. Hunt to bring in food both meat and plants. Diet system for all factions. Raccoon has ability called sneak where where there partially invinsible for a short time. Depending on the size of an animal it can carry injured players depending on there weight. Some animals like rats can make a hole into a house and steal resources. Animals that are powerfull like moose and bulls can carry wagons that hall resources like ammunition and healing packs. Random locations around the map house all sorts of resources. Horned animals can dig for mining metal and rub on trees for gathering wood. Animals with hands can pick up the material on the ground and put it on the wagon. There is a max weight limit depending on the size of the animal carrying it. Animals with “hands” can grab onto small weapons like knives and guns and use them in combat. Only humans can craft items and give it to to them. Huge animals can release the wagon off there back so they can get more mobile and speed. There can be one huge animal 1 large animal, 1 medium animal and 1 small in a group. Large animals can have a human on back with weapon. A large animal such as a tiger has sense and prey abilities that can give visibility to see animals by lighting there silouhette for certain amount of time. Prey ability that gives it more bleed damage certain amount of time. And increased hearing footsteps. Different biomes will need to be traveled to in order to receive certain resources. Arctic-iron, forest - wood, jungle-medicines, grasslands-plant crops like corn. Ai infected animals are weaker than the animal they represent Moose will have a normal head but, holding a button will bring your head down making increased turn radius and damage but decreases absolute speed. Letting go of the attack button spring your head up in a powerful jolt. Sending anything you hit tumbling backwards. Muskox has a little headbutt for basic attack damage. Can charge by creating distance. Players spawn in as a baby they have to find eachother to fill out the max group size. If you do die you lose all your resources and have to start over. Dynamic growth system. More powerfull animals take longer to grow. Storages for resources. Humans can ride on large animals as well as shooting while riding. Rhinos can charge a thrust attack with the there horn. Elk does a little bit of bleed.

Everythig always looks good, the issue is that they showcase shit that never comes or takes years to come. We all saw the Spino on the EVRIMA trailer years ago, where's that spino? We know it wasn't time for it, but the hype was there. Endless years of wait, and somehow I can't quit this game. Guess my childhood obsessions take over my reasoning.

Spino wasn’t priority but personally I don’t think you should expect stuff that’s teased to be coming soon unless specifically said,after all it’s only a tease to let you know their getting progress done but I do think they previously had a problem on slow development back then but now their speeding it up.

Maia has a special place in my heart. It's all I played back on legacy in realism servers. I don't know why but I just became obsessed with the lifestyle, even though it was simple. All the hadrosaurs tended to have a horse-like set of rules for them in most realism servers. Horses/cows/deer. I hope that I can garner some of that feeling out of the game again, especially with nesting now in and more valid than ever. I just hope that some of the issues with the game are fixed by then too. I can play most any game on my computer in epic settings, but when I open Isle, even putting the settings all down to poor, I still get no frames. Something is wrong when a 2k+ computer can't keep up. Not much point in putting more updates out when people can't even play your game.

Something I learned while watching a documentary or maybe an episode of Clint's Reptiles, a month or so back, but the horns you see on reconstructions of Dinos in museums are only the cores of the horns, the actual horns grew around those cores but were not preserved. So the Trikes horns were massive like the elders, or possibly even larger.

@@bandittkiz3 Not 100% sure yet on how you'll become elder. I would imagine it's you growing and being adult with perfect diet for an amount of time, or perhaps some sort of quest your Dino must go on. Just speculation for now. I can do some legacy, and I will do Allo HT once it's in there 😊

I disagree with pachy. Elder is supposed to make you look older the bald head and chunky body do that. And if you know anything about pachycephalosaurus you would know that as they age their horns get smaller and the dome gets larger. I think most elders should be saggier but more muscled versions, rather than just adding spikes and what not.

From what I've understood. You'll have the option to carry on playing as normal one day or switch to elder, once you've reached adult and perhaps completed some tests or even had a perfect diet for a while, not sure yet. Then when you hit the elder stage you will grow a bit bigger, stronger and perhaps quicker. But you will eventually die of old age, how long this will be I have no idea. But it's kinda a taste of true power, but not over powered (I hope) but with an end, so the choice is yours

i will admit i do keep tabs on the isle. i am however not playing it and its quite unlikely i will return to it. as it falls within a death catagory of gaming. its chances to go anywhere is slim to none. kids have grown up from playing this game and im sure another generation will be in school by the time all dinos are out.

Why give rex before allo? I wish we could get Maia and Allo for this year together. We really need a mid-tier carnivore, Rex wouldnt fit and adding another large and strong herbivore isn't really helping the problem with Dibble and Stego being more trouble than their worth with the current roster.

This is a copy and paste a comment I’ve made to someone but, ​​⁠animal survival games are at there core very simple and you don’t really have to use too much brain power to play. This is what I think makes them boring for me. Once the isle adds humans, weapons, crafting, upgrades, interactive labs where you can possibly synthesize shit, then the gameplay loop will start to be a lot more complex where theres a learning curve. The only problem is this is not going to happen to either for years to come.

@ those cannot be compared to this type of survival game,take dinosaur simulator or prior extinction for example,while I do think isles growth times are a bit long it’s kinda valid for balance especially in the horrible state it’s in,if a cera grew in 40 mins like in prior extinction wouldn’t that be pretty annoying?,you know what you’re getting yourself into therefor you can be responsible for it,if you don’t like that then don’t play the isles,play smth like pot where progress is saved,isles is a hardcore survival game that WILL NOT baby you and I do agree a tutorial is needed but other than that you shouldn’t be babied anymore.

@@MrTickles445 I get you, but the point of the game isn't just PvP. So enjoy the growing, go make some friends, chat in global or group. Run for your life, almost dye to starvation, find water 💦 repeat all of that, find someone to mate with or fight with or against, be mindful with your fights and don't just go face first. It's painful to lose your growth, but if you actually experience growing to it's fullest then you should be having some kind of fun along the way. If you afk for hours to grow and then choose a fight then yeah, you're wasting your time, respectfully
