My only sports claim to fame...My brothers and I went to Chicago and were in that corner(albeit very high up/I actually got a warning for smoking a cigarette on the concourse) and we had thought we won, all The Bears fans in front of us were in cobra loss position, hands on their heads...beyond that though, I will forever hate Matt Forte(even though he is a super humble guy) for taking an 80 yard screen right before half time, and Julius Peppers for breaking Stafford's shoulder that game. So glad I found this channel. I've been a Lions fan since the late 60s. I've watched the Lions get jobbed by officials, the front office, other teams and the NFL. If the Lions score a touchdown, they will make rule on the spot to reverse it. The Lions have to create a team of players that are so dominant that there will be no question about them winning games. But that will never happen. It's always the same. Lions against the Packers and the NFL and the Refs. They will never be allowed to be in a Super Bowl. Never. Even if they win the division ...they will change the rules.

Yoo, that Golden Tate non touchdown at 2:27 is a WAY BIGGER DEAL. The refs did call it a touchdown. They did review it. They then ruled it a non touchdown. Then, because they reviewed it themselves and got it wrong, they added the ten second run off which ended the game. Ten more seconds. On the 1/4 yard line. I'm an old, 40+ year fan of the Lions. I love the Detroit Lions. It sometimes makes me feel better to think we're always "cheated". But the fact is, we just have never been good enough as a Team to overcome the same kinds of bad calls/plays that happen to every NFL Team. That fact tends to heighten the visibility of said bad calls/plays vs. other teams. The reason is our Ownership. The Ford Family has no real desire to make our Team elite. They are happy to reel in the money from a bottom of the barrel NFL Team while losing. Ron Wood knows nothing about football, has zero background in football, but he is our "President" because he did a great job of estate planning for the Fords. Quinn is our GM because we let an NFL committee find him. Why would one let the competition find your leader? Because it is easy and cheap. Quinn fires a guy (Caldwell), who gave us three winning seasons out of four and two playoff appearances, so he can bring in a cheaper crony (Patricia) who has a .391 winning pct. with the Team now. With the exception of Golladay, every Quinn draft pick has been either a bust, or picked far ahead of where he should have been. Name Quinn's most productive draft pick besides Golladay. This is the problem. Add in the bust Free Agent signings (Lang, Wagner, Flowers, Blount, etc.) and the players he let go for nothing or next to nothing (Kyle Van Noy and Larry Warford are Pro Bowlers) and what do you have? You have the reality of a loser that will continue to be a loser until new Ownership decides they want to get serious about winning. That means putting motivated, experienced, and qualified people in the positions (President, GM, Head Coach) accountable for winning. And having zero tolerance if they don't.

I don't remember the Neil O'donnell "crowd is too loud" play specifically, but that rule existed for quite a while before then. I remember Steve Fuller with the '85 Bears using that rule on the Monday night game in Miami, even though it didn't help the Bears that night. The "faceguarding" no call against the Cowboys....didn't Dez Bryant of the Cowboys come running onto the field from the sidelines with no helmet to argue that call? That should have been a penalty on Dez Bryant as well.

You are so right about this...especially Matt Millen. My father, a WWII pilot, had us season tickets for all the Detroit teams. He once said to me that he was afraid he would die before the Lions ever went to a Championship game. Now, at 65, I am afraid that I will be saying the same thing to my kids. It's hard watching this team year after year. It's to the point now that I can predict the outcome without even the pain of watching it. Joey Harrington/Charles Rogers combination was the hottest combo for half a season(rookie year for both) Rogers breaks his collar bone half way through the season. He was never the same. He broke again the following season. Harrington had no running game as usual. Harrington had no receivers that could consistently "catch". One game in Tampa Harrington led the Lions in the fourth quarter to a come from behind victory. 99 yard drive in less than 2 minutes. He threw the winning td pass too Marcus Pollard. All three endzone officials ruled it a td. The bucs upper management got the call reversed. The lions ended up losing the game. Hank Williams jr. lost his job for mentioning it, in his weekly Monday night football song. "How Detroit got ripped in Tampa" I know this to be a fact the bucs upper management got the call reversed. Rich McKay confirmed this to a associate of mine, who I worked with at Sound Advice. I was at the game. Rich McKay was the Falcons GM at the time. He previously was the bucs GM. Joey Harrington was never the same after that game(spiritually and mentally) Stafford has never gotten over the 2014 dallas playoff game. Either has N.Suh.

so true, all of it. I am a huge lions fan. I have wanted to become a fan of another team so that I can feel what it's like to see my team have success but I just can't do it. I will always be a lions fan but man it's not easy. Last night I was playing a game of Madden (as the lions of coarse) and struggling. My 7 year old son asks me "Dad, why do we have to be Lions fans? aren't there other teams that know how to win"... maybe one day. There are 2 things I want before I die; a lions championship and a 7 day Disney cruise with my entire family. The good news is that I can have one of these
