@@museli_addict In a way I hope that is true. Dan going out in style would only make sense. And Gregg choosing the safe option makes sense as well. Interested to see whose new venture exists longer. As a British NFL fan, I can say that around the NFL was one of the reasons why my love for the game grew. The NFL say they are all about growing the game but by cancelling this show they are doing the opposite. The guys really helped UK fans understand and love the game. The day Wes died is still one of the saddest things I ever listened to. I am really going to miss the heroes.

Well, as a Yank, I'm glad to see our sport cross the Pond and catch some attention. Basketball has proven that tapping into international talent pools is nothing but a boon to ratings and the game itself. I can't wait to see what kind of talent comes out of Europe, eventually. Giant Austrian O-Linemen. Savage Slavic and Serbian Linebackers. Italian refs, because well, nobody respects those guys!😂 The French can be our cheerleaders.

As a “dumb Brit” who decided to stay up one night to watch the Super Bowl 7 years ago for the first time and got hooked, these guys talked me through the players, the teams, and everything else. No exaggeration, these guys are a massive reason to why I am hooked on this sport. I cannot believe the decision by the NFL, but equally know these guys will land on their feet. I’m sure whenever Dan/Marc release a new show it will catapult up in the International sports category over here in the UK.

Because one of the hosts is still employed and they all were getting paid good money before the cancellation. No shot Gregg will be allowed to continue the podcast without his employers consent (and that’s not happening), unless he also wants to get fired. He’s got a family to feed and is being compensated, so I don’t blame him, but it’s why the band won’t be together under any circumstances until he is no longer under the nfl’s employ.

I really liked that they weren't the stupid over the top yelling hot takes kind of podcast. They deliberately pushed to not do that, to be fun and friendly, to do silly but memorable things. Their go get my lunch thing, what's more likely, the hot butt meter, around the AFC in 48 minutes (with tranquilizer darts). But most of all, I remember 50 phrases to describe the cowboys defense (including "child like, but not to imply innocence or purity") and the other genuinely surreal but completely unique things that couldn't have been done anywhere else. I will also remember Dan misspeaking and breaking himself on air - "In the second half, the Jet's defense copulated... No, wait... Capitulated... Copulating would be a weird choice." which was so real and so relatable.

The rumors regarding higher ups in the NFL shutting it down, due to leaked information and certain things they talked about, seems relaistic regarding Florio mentioning it as well.

I am now going to not watch games or pay attention to the NFL anymore for the first time in my life. Not kidding. FUCK THE NFL!

I’m so sad to have lost the heroes. They were a stable thing for me through a decade of change and upheaval.

So happy this video exists. Always loved ATN, didn't realize it was sooo beloved. It got me into football and eventually to Perna and Grossi

You're absolutely right about what makes a podcast great. I mostly just listen to one that's about music and the guys who host it are liking have two music nerd best friends riding in the car with me. It's really hard to capture that sort of chemistry and for the NFL to break up something successful kinda makes me wonder if/when the league is jumping the proverbial shark.

This is literally the saddest news I have heard this year. Hi, loved be around the NFL podcast. It's the only sports podcast I have ever listened to with consistency. Over a decade. I can't believe it's canceled. I'm heartbroken. 😢😢😢

This was the send off the Around The NFL deserved. Thank you for articulating my disappointment and disbelief at its cancellation and for giving them the love they richly deserve.

Im just about 38. Ive been listening to this pod since i was 27. In that time i met my wife, had a kid, started my career, and bought a house (albeit almost all of that happened between 27 and 28). The sheer amount of knowledge i have about the sound drops from around the NFL is almost embarrassing. There was/is no other pod like it. I'm still coming to terms with it. That said, 60%G (Gregg) talked somewhat openly about how his own family issues are/were the driving force for him to stick with the company. Im stilll waiting for the tell all. I don't know why "the ol' Zeuser" (Dan) or "The Quiet Storm" (Marc) jave been quiet on this, but I'm hoping myself and fans get to learn why it was so unceremoniously cut from our lives.
