People are so gaslit… that most can’t even like these comments knowing it’s true in fear of saying anything bad about the establishment and somehow being punished. And also gaslight by their ego even to put up self defenses to block it out, cause then maybe am I one of those brainwashed washed gaslight lamp carriers…. Yes I have definitely been. I was gung ho about the status quo when I was a kid, I had to be, I’d be punished for not being the best. What a sickness, almost killed me

As a British NFL fan, I can say that around the NFL was one of the reasons why my love for the game grew. The NFL say they are all about growing the game but by cancelling this show they are doing the opposite. The guys really helped UK fans understand and love the game. Well, as a Yank, I'm glad to see our sport cross the Pond and catch some attention. Basketball has proven that tapping into international talent pools is nothing but a boon to ratings and the game itself. I can't wait to see what kind of talent comes out of Europe, eventually. Giant Austrian O-Linemen. Savage Slavic and Serbian Linebackers. Italian refs, because well, nobody respects those guys!😂 The French can be our cheerleaders.

No exaggeration, these guys are a massive reason to why I am hooked on this sport. I cannot believe the decision by the NFL, but equally know these guys will land on their feet. I’m sure whenever Dan/Marc release a new show it will catapult up in the International sports category over here in the UK.

Because one of the hosts is still employed and they all were getting paid good money before the cancellation. No shot Gregg will be allowed to continue the podcast without his employers consent (and that’s not happening), unless he also wants to get fired. He’s got a family to feed and is being compensated, so I don’t blame him, but it’s why the band won’t be together under any circumstances until he is no longer under the nfl’s employ.

I really liked that they weren't the stupid over the top yelling hot takes kind of podcast. They deliberately pushed to not do that, to be fun and friendly, to do silly but memorable things. Their go get my lunch thing, what's more likely, the hot butt meter, around the AFC in 48 minutes (with tranquilizer darts). But most of all, I remember 50 phrases to describe the cowboys defense (including "child like, but not to imply innocence or purity") and the other genuinely surreal but completely unique things that couldn't have been done anywhere else. I will also remember Dan misspeaking and breaking himself on air - "In the second half, the Jet's defense copulated... No, wait... Capitulated... Copulating would be a weird choice." which was so real and so relatable.

Thanks, Perna, for covering this. I'm devastated. What a low-blow move by NFL media. I do not and have never cared about their other forced feeling content, but I was all in on ATN. If their goal was to push me and many others away from their brand and toward more private content, success.

This stings so much, when i started listening to ATN in 2015 i was in high school, i got through college and had two kids while listening 2-3 times a week. Crazy week

The rumors regarding higher ups in the NFL shutting it down, due to leaked information and certain things they talked about, seems relaistic regarding Florio mentioning it as well.

There are SOOOO many of us, myself included who were fringe football fans, who because of this podcast, ended up wanting to watch EVERY single football game every team plays... I have been a subscriber of nfl+ for the last 4 years because I want to watch ALL of the games because of this podcast.

Your point about intimacy is on the money. Never have I grieved for anyone I didn't personally know the way I did when the episode about Wess's passing dropped.

Im just about 38. Ive been listening to this pod since i was 27. In that time i met my wife, had a kid, started my career, and bought a house (albeit almost all of that happened between 27 and 28). The sheer amount of knowledge i have about the sound drops from around the NFL is almost embarrassing. There was/is no other pod like it. I'm still coming to terms with it. That said, 60%G (Gregg) talked somewhat openly about how his own family issues are/were the driving force for him to stick with the company. Im stilll waiting for the tell all. I don't know why "the ol' Zeuser" (Dan) or "The Quiet Storm" (Marc) jave been quiet on this, but I'm hoping myself and fans get to learn why it was so unceremoniously cut from our lives.

As someone who enjoys cartoons, this sounds like exactly what Warner Bros. has been doing to many animated projects to "save money", by getting rid of stuff by tax-offs, screwing over animators, cancelling projects (Including some Looney Tunes movies), and just basically gutting HBO Max/Max to a shell of itself, cause they thought people who want more crap reality shows instead. The NFL could learn that this is a dumb idea that will alienate the true fans, but they don't care. They want whatever eyeballs to watch them by any means, even if it's stupid and will cut off the people who actually like the product. Just look at how the whole Taylor Swift thing was last year to see a bunch of people who don't know football were only there for her

Around the NFL was pretty much my default first podcast every morning when I started my work shift. This hurts. I feel so bad for the boys. 2 of them are laid off or fired and the the other has to build a new show from scratch

It doesn't even feel real. I've listened to this pod for a decade and it's been my go-to NFL podcast for such a long time. I love Greg, but I'm not tuning into daily garbage that he's going to have to manage with all these new podcast ideas the NFL is going to try to replace ATN with.

genuinely the saddest media news I've heard in many, many years Edit: Marc and Dan had parrallel contract negotiations in the past, while Gregg was on a different cycle. And now I guess either nfl did not meet the two's demand or sth like that. maybe they did not even offer new contracts. who knows. but yeah, I guess Gregg is still under contract and the other two simply aren't/haven't been, propably since june.
