The old Cardinals regime our offensive was explosive and we would start games off hot, but we would sizzle out by the 2nd half and not be able to finish games. This new regime our offensive is not as explosive (for now) but JG has these guys playing with grit and tenacity all the way to the final whistle.

I just found a pattern with the Cardinals. In 2008, we went to the super bowl, fast forward 8 year and now we're in the NFC Championshp game. Our team dosen't look scary but neither did the 2008 cardinals and they went to the super bowl. The point is every 8 years after 2008 we have a monumental year, and I can see some similarities with our current team and thst 2008 Cardinals team. I'mnot saying anything crazy will happen but I found an interesting pattern with the Cardinals.

Playoffs are not that big of a deal if you know you stand no chance of making it to a SB. That is just fans wanting instant gratification. If Monti can pick up a decent edge that averages 6-9 sacks at a good price great but the fans wanting Monti to throw his plan out the window and give up top draft picks for an elite edge rusher are bonkers. Even if you can find a team willing to give up a good edge which is doubtful the price would be sky high. Makes no sense. You go all out like that only when the rest of the team is good enough to make the playoffs and that one piece can be the difference maker of getting to the SB. We are an average team in year two of a rebuild, our D is missing more than one piece. Monti is a big part of the reason we are where we are, if he picks up help great, I'm excited, if he doesn't I trust his process, there will be FA edges next year and we have a lot of cap plus the draft is supposed to have a number of good edges. I would rather save the top draft picks for a young stud next year or spend the money on a FA without giving up picks now for some instant gratification.

The one good thing that happened this game is they figured out the pass game as the run failed. Lets hope Petzing finally realized they can't be one dimensional any more.
