Right they did. I'm a Raiders fan and I kept up with it. Many wanted AOC. I believe Minshew would have been decent enough for Raiders to get wins and even go to the Playoffs and even the bowl. It's all about understanding that, all a team needs is a competent QB with a solid defense. And Raiders have that.

1 quality quarter in 2 games is nothing to get excited about. Shew is forcing throws to DA and consistently missing wide open receivers. Apparently he now recognizes Bowers in the huddle. Meyers and Tucker, not so much. Not sold on Shew.

I know Minshew isn't a top end franchise type QB, but every year he is clearly better than a bunch of QB's considered to be 'starting QB's' in the league, and I wonder why people continue to say he's just a backup. Yes, he's not good enough to carry a team to a Super Bowl on his own, but there aren't a full 32 starting QB's in the league better than he is.

Just 2 months ago you were all about how AOC was the guy. I’m not knocking AOC or Minshew cause we all know at any moment if things go wrong they will have no choice to put in AOC. They are 2 completely different QB’s. M-shew can roll out & save plays but AOC is a more intelligent pocket passer. Who knows how the season will go. I don’t mind either at QB cause eventually the new GM will draft or trade for “his guy” at QB. Every GM does it when they come to a team. The Raiders defense is what wins them games these days anyway. There will be changes at QB next season. It’s just the facts. I’m glad Bowers fell to them instead of a questionable QB this draft cause Bowers is a proven stud. Half the QB’s drafted won’t make it. They will get a solid QB by next season. Carr has been lighting it up the first 2 weeks & the Raiders need better guards on the line. Minshew won’t be the starter next year. Watch…this is just how the NFL works. Minshew is a bridge QB for the year if he finishes it out.
