We don’t have these games anymore because at that time everybody was trying to innovate and come up with something so much better and once EA figured out the right combination, they stuck with the same code and basically we get little updates every year with the same line of code just rearranged a little bit.

NHL 2K5 is, imo, the best NHL game ever made. By the way, it had a "skill stick" if you put your controller settings on "advanced". You could then control the stick position with the other joystick when you were holding B. It allowed you to dangle on the breakaway which was very fun and revolutionary at the time. You could have used that for the last challenge :)

@@KrisVic91 Yeah because, for some reason, 2k8 didn't shoot when you released the puck in advanced skill stick mode so you couldn't use it to properly deke the goalie on breakaways. Huge deal breaker imo.

This is by far one of the best nhl games in my opinion and it would literally be amazing if we ever saw a remake or newer version. The fighting was unreal compared to any other EA NHL. Where this game lacked in stick control it easily made up in every other area. The zamboni game mode was also a childhood favorite for me. Would LOVE to see another video on either this or whatever the latest 2k game was.

NHL 2K6 had the best goalie mode. On a shot, the time would slow and you’d have to move the reticle over where the shot was being aimed- you had less time based off your skill and difficulty of the save.. I miss 2k6

Being out of the game since ‘05 is unreal. 2k ESPN games all had the most fire “homes” you could have your trophies in. When I do a franchise in 24 there being no all star is so weird very very weird

Is it just me or do those shooting animations look better than even NHL 24 on NexGen? lol. Man 2K especially in 2005 was legendary. NFL 2K five greatest football game ever in my opinion of the greatest sports game ever. NBA 2K five one of the greatest basketball games ever. And back then I wasn’t into hockey so action never played this game but it looks freaking awesome and I actually really wanna play it now.
