When my mum was stuck in the hell hole they call hospital most of the nurses couldnt understand English. I took her out so she could die at home.....2 days later😢😢😢😢😢😢

I'm sorry for your experience. But I have had a number of lodgers over the years, mainly nurses as I live near the Sussex County hospital some British, some Philippino, some Indian and recently from Nepal and all could speak English. Okay Indians are not always perfect even though they attended English Schools back home, they all have to pass a language test to get the job, though for cleaners there is no language test. I can assure you when they leave my house their English is better than some native speakers.

Positions should be given on the basis of merit. I was brought up in the 70s and 80s to believe in equal OPPORTUNITY, and then progress would be made by the individual based on merit, i.e., the individual's own application, hard work, skills, determination and aptitude. We need to get back to a meritocracy.
