I use noir to fall asleep (raging insomniac). This one failed to do that for me. Eyes wide, glued to my tablet, dog twitching and kicking against me as he chases badgers in his dachshund dreams. This is a really good film. Cast was EXCELLENT and their work is top-notch in this, all of them. A bit of a character study of the 5 main roles, especially the wife as she makes decisions no one should ever have to make. I'm only 1:02 into it so I don't know how it ends as I write this. If my opinion of the film changes in the next 23 minutes I'll let you know. You will not be disappointed in this excellent movie. I was born in 1957, an out of the womb fashionista. I have been OBSESSED with full skirted shirt-dresses my entire existence. My first was a pink hand me down and I LOVED it. The fashions and styles of home decor, architecture, cars are a real treat for me. Every once in a while I see something from my childhood that triggers cascades of memories. A clever, simple kitchen towel rack took me right to my grandma's kitchen and beautiful recollections. Thanks, Ay Music, for bringing us a great old film.

Great Movie! Thanks for the upload! I've always loved John Cassavetes! And the protagonist sort of reminds me of a young Bruce Willis for some reason. Would've made a fine remake for him in his day in my opinion. Thanks again! 😊🙏🏾🙌🏾

The plot description above is dead wrong on several counts. Maybe it was one of those AI hallucinations. For one thing, Jack Kelly and Hildy Parks play the married couple, and the husband's character's name is Gene, not Alfred. John Cassavetes plays the leader of the crime gang. But thanks for uploading! It was a great crime drama all the way through.

Hubby and I did once. A young couple who did a little dance for us. We stopped. They were just a couple yrs older than we were, free spirits traveling I-5 for some reason I don't recall. We had a lovely time. That was in 1976. Never did it again. I wouldn't even give a woman a ride if she had broken down on the road. Even, I think, if she had a small child with her. I will send help if I can but even stopping to ask if you can call someone can set you up to be robbed at the very least. A woman alone, or even a man alone, is an easy target.

Good movie and well played by all. I'm amazed at the high tech available to law enforcement at that time 😂. Photostatic duplicated and place on conveyor belt to speedily deliver to the telegraph office then to the 🐎 PonyExpress...

That's part of why I love these old films. A glimpse into haw we used to get things done. That communications center was state of the art at that time. Like the stone age compared to our digital age. I've decided not to become a criminal-type in my senior years.. Far too many cameras and cell towers to get away with anything.

IMDb has all the info on everything. Internet Movie Database. I look up almost everything I watch for one reason or another, identifying cast, filming locations or the year it was released. TV and movies. Documentaries and silent films. The earliest television broadcasts and projects still in pre-production. It's an excellent resource for film and television buffs. Bios and trivia, too.

The crime that became the basis of The Night Holds Terror occurred on February 13, 1953. Eugene M. Courtier was an Edwards Air Force Base technician, and the kidnapping took place on a Lancaster, California highway. The sale of Courtier's car also took place in Lancaster. The criminals, Leonard Daniel Mahan, James Bartley Carrigan and Don Eugene Hall, were tried and convicted.[1]

There were more than a few of these type of crimes committed back then. From the 20s thru the 60s (roughly). Toddlers to business executives taken for ransome. That is a fact, my friend. They mention statistics some point, including the Lindburg baby. This is an excellent, well made film.
