The beginning of the video was spectacular. The whole video was just too long to watch it one sitting, I'll probably watch the rest of it at another time. 😎📹👍

I've done the same with a peregrine/prairie falcon hybrid. This was in the 80's She flew at 850 grams. 'Elvira' would take crows at dusk from the crow roosts. The main danger was her possibly flying in pursuit of a crow and having her catch it in unusual circumstances. Under farm equipment, right next to a power substation, and being mobbed by the other crows. She would shield herself with her wings. Hiding her head. Looking like a 'cone' in the field with other crows mobbing her. My favorite area was the local pre-civil war cemetery. Where she would stay in the area safely. And we would enjoy our time together in the peaceful historical cemetery, as she fed up on her crow kill and I would eat my dinner I bought at the local fast food restaurant prior to flying her.

Should be banned it is a blood sport and very unethical. Shame on you

What is unethical about falcon doing what he was made to do? You want to band falcons, or any other animal that is hunting for a living?
@GuessWho10004 Жыл бұрын
@@Semendrija123 i am not against any animal or bird. But it is unethical to interfere with nature and cause unecessary harm to other inofensive animals and birds that are not designed to hunt, fight or defend themselves and this is damaging the conservation by training hawks to kill as a blood sport more than anything. I have seen the damage caused by falconry in Hungary, the deadly silence of no living creature, but hawks due to the farmers who trained hawks to hunt and some even lost control of these prey birds, which never returned back. So it is very unethical to practice this "sport" when it is so unecessary.

@@GuessWho10004 the bird of prey hunts and the prey defends itself. This is how nature was created. and the falconer, after releasing the falcon from the fist, becomes only a spectator of nature. And falconry is not a sport, but rather a way of life. it does not condemn a multi-millenary domain, it does not accuse falconers because they are the first in all countries to campaign for saving ecosystems and birds of prey through their vast knowledge about birds and the environment

@@GuessWho10004 no offence, but it is clear as day you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about, and some stuff you have mentioned are bold lies! First of all, the man is a part of nature, we don't live in some parallel universe, and as such it is natural for as to "interfere". For hundreds of years the man was using the birds of prey for hunting and surviving in harsh environment, and some of us have continued to live that kind of life. When the falconer releases the falcon, the bird of prey is on its own, and the prey has every chance to survive, escape or fight, even more so, because the wild falcons are more efficient hunters than falconry birds! There is absolutely no damage caused by falconry, especially in Europe, on the contrary, the falconers are the main reason many endangered species of birds of prey are reintroduced in to the wild, and we also care about, and release many prey species in great numbers in to the wild! If you compare the falconry with the rifle hunting, there is no comparison, the hunters kill incomparably more animals than falconers, and still there are plenty animals in the hunting grounds even for rifle hunters because the hunting is regulated by the law and by the available numbers of the prey species, and every year the hunters as falconers release a huge number of prey animals in to the wild! On average, the birds of prey in falconry caught only one prey species out of ten hunting attempts, so when you talk about "deadly silence of no living creature", I know that you are lying, or someone has told you that nonsense?! Any way, use your energy on some smart stuff, and let other people do what they have done for thousands of years without damaging the nature, only contributing!
