This night a month ago I stood beside my mother's bedside and watched as she walked through the night - into glory with her Father. Her prayer when she was diagnosed was that she would walk the journey with grace - and she did. God is real and He walked beside her and us through that journey. Her race is run and her journey is done. Now we walk here for a little while longer through the day but He will be with me when I walk that road through the night. See you in glory, Mum.

I grew up in the Swiss Reformed Church. Surrounded by earnest and fairhfull believers I always believed in God the Father, the Son Bd the Holy Spirit. Our Hymn book had Hymns fir every high feast: Christmas, Good Friday, Easter, Ascencion, the Day of Repentance and Prayer and Advent and New Year. It had hanksgiving Hymns and Hymns of praise and worship. It had Hymns for Baptism and Funeral, Hymns to comfort and strengthen God's anxious and sick children. It had Hymns for the Morning and Hymns for the night!! This song for the night touches my heart and my soul! I so miss English songs for the beginning of each day to give thanks for a good night and give encouragement for the day ahead.. And songs for the night prayer..thanksgiving for the day and for God's protection fir the night.. Thank you so very much fir this beautiful night prayer. Being unvaccinated in NB Canada has been rough. Our church doesn’t even sing anymore because of government mandates and no one is allowed to talk to each other after the service as we are instructed to leave immediately and not to congregate. Can’t even sit beside someone who isn’t in your direct household. There is absolutely no fellowship or praising being done at all. I feel the road is only going to get tougher from here with mass injustice and unrighteousness and persecution starting to mount globally for the church. Seeing this and people freely worshipping the Lord as a church is what I’m starving for right now. This is reminded me that the Lord is with me. always no matter how dark it gets. It’s sad my own church has decided to follow the mandates and muzzle everybody instead of offering our praises to the God of our salvation as a body o believers. I’m brought to tears watching this.

@@christinehunt625 I’ve since found a new church and body of believers that put their duty to God before duty of Government. They never stopped praising God throughout the Pandemic and never shut down. God had plans for me even throughout the chaos. That being said, worship in NB is back to normal for now since they lifted the emergency orders. I just wish our elected officials were held accountable for violating our constitutional religious rights. More christians need to stand firm against tyranny and evil.

I really wish I had this song growing up! I was almost always afraid at night time. Afraid of the dark, afraid of someone breaking in and hurting me or my family. Now that I’m an adult I still have some of these fears, but this song… this gives me the peaceful reminder that God is with me even at night. Music has always been a way that God has gotten my attention.
