While I understand the perspective of the people who don't like this cover/remix, I can't help but feel that they're missing the point. They turned the track from a theatrical tune that serves a plot purpose in the film into a late-night club banger that would sound almost at home in a DJ set by Gesaffelstein. The grooves are solid, the production is great, and the monotone singing definitely adds to the new connotation of the track as something separate from the original. It's supposed to sound weird and mechanical. That's the point.

+TheLegendaryZed Naw, it's not a club banger. It's trash.

***** So why are you here then? Wouldn't it just be logical to not listen to stuff you don't like instead of annoying the people who actually do enjoy it?
@corygoodrich72428 жыл бұрын
If that's what they were going for, then I like it even less. this song simply doesn't work as a generic club song. It has a childish charm to it and removing thst charm just turns it into garbage.

Same, FlyLeaf's cover sucks compared to fall out boys. Korn's cover is still one of the best too but this covers great as well

I'm so glad I'd already started listening to She Wants Revenge by the time I'd heard this the first time. (Just in the meaning that I'd listened to original work first before a cover) because i knew and was used to their style

Hot Take: I like this cover much more than Korn's cover of the song. I think there's something eerie about this one compared to Korn's, both are solid, but this one just works for me much more.

Same with Sally’s Song. Like…I love Amy Lee. But Fiona Apple’s rendition so ethereal and beautiful

I think the plaintive moaning tone of voice helps it a lot. Sounds like the grief-stricken wailing of a stuck ghost.

Absolutely adore this remix, I like it when covers and remixes go much more experimental on their takes, can absolutely hear myself grooving to this on a subway

this song appeared in the offical soundtrack - disc 2 - I originally got this back in Texas at a GoodWill and it worked - When disc 2 appeared, everything just imploded as my Halloween was controlled by these amazing songs, one of these was this. I loved this song growing up and always pictured the instruments they used. Such a childhood banger!

I always listen to this version along with the P!ATD and FOB covers too and in my mind it's always a version where jack and sally move into christmas town and have left halloween town behind, and they have a daughter who has grown up there but she has never felt christmas, so one day she leaves to visit halloween town to see what's happened since her father (the essential king) left. In this version, it's her with the kids reminding them how to be evil and showing them what to do. (I know there would be so many plot holes and what not in this but it's what my mind played when i first heard this cover)

Lots of people dislike it, but I think this fucks super hard. The curt way they sings certain parts especially. There's a weird menace to the whole thing, and I would 100% dance to this in some fucked up goth club.

My personal opinion is that all 4 of the versions that came from this album that weren't on Nightmare Revisited (Manson's version WAS on N.R.) are the superior versions. Actually, scratch that, Fiona Apple and Amy Lee are tied. The other 3 were superior though.

I despise this version minus the part at 2:35-ish where it plays the original tune. The pace is awful, it's monotonous, and I don't like it has one core singer. It took the quirky, childish charm and outright murdered it.

i like she wants revenge but i dont like this cover lol ill stick to the korn one
@uanime111 жыл бұрын
Unlike in the movie these singer(s) don't sound like they care about what they're going to do. It also sounds like one guy is singing 3 parts. Definitely a poor imitation.
@uanime110 жыл бұрын
The problem is that their version is inferior to the film because it's so bland.
@uanime110 жыл бұрын
You seem not to understand that their own style was boring, which is why I feel it was inferior to the original song.
@casey804010 жыл бұрын
To be fair this is their style. I recently found them on pandora and hated them at first. The style might be boring but it grooves and grows on you if you listen to it enough.
@brittanythurston68866 жыл бұрын
@@ARO323 His name is Justin Warfield, not Simon, but I also realllllly love this band and this cover. It's kind of hilarious how people are upset because it's monotone. That's literally how he sings. Sounds the same live too.
@Gorehoundula5 жыл бұрын
I don't care about their style because I don't know their work, but I like the monotone vocals. A friend showed me this version, and for the first minute I thought it was bland, then it hit me just how eerie it is. It brings the demented nature of the song to a whole new level. The original is "crazy sadist" demented. Korn upped that and added "raving maniac" demented to boot. This is "cold, unfeeling, deep seated psychopathy" demented. This cover made what was a dark but comical cartoon song into something truly spooky.
@TraceofHatred10 жыл бұрын
This is so painfully emotionless. :I Probably the worst cover of this song.
@TraceofHatred9 жыл бұрын
I found it really bland and repetitive to be honest. It's great if you like repetitive house-y kind of tunes, which I don't mind on occasion, but for a song like this which is really up and down with the melodies and three vocalist harmonies, having a monotone electronic voice really ruined it for me.
