I've had a theory about Jack for a few years now. What if his fascination with Christmas comes from vague memories? He mentioned earlier that he was dead, implying he was alive at some point. Possibly as a human that didn't live in Halloween Town. It would explain why he knows what things like snowballs, frost, mistletoe and chestnuts are. Things I doubt you'd find in his neck of the woods. Some of our happiest memories DO tend to be around the holidays. Perhaps all this reminded him of a time where everything in his life wasn't wrapped up in creepy, scary things. And he needed to experience that all again. And if that's the case, the movie turns into a beautiful message about letting go of the past and finding joy in who you are and the friends you have. Zero, The Mayor and of course, Sally. :)

danny elfman is a genius This movie is soo good. Everything is just perfect. I love how jack is trying so hard to fight his scary "halloween"nature because he's so tired of being scary and the pumpkin king but he can't change his nature and he ruins christmas :,(
