I'm always impressed by how successful and complex they made a beat 'em up that's on a single plane/with no z-axis movement. Truly a wonderful game. Always delightful to see you tear it up thoroughly and masterfully.

I throw the term around a bit, but this is a true Desert Island pick - you get a huge and well-defined suite of player and enemy mechanics, on one hand, but fiendishly unpredictable AI on the other, with its single plane and 4:3 res keeping the intensity at 11. My only wants are a properly balanced Kamaitachi, and maybe a slightly shorter (but tougher) course, but that's basically bumping an 11/10 brawler down to just plain ol' 10. ^__^

I know this video is 8 years old but this is my first time seeing the full ending since we've just had a remake a while back. I can't help but wonder how a secret would play out with 5 machines being sacrificed. Maybe somebody will find the old ones rebuild them and have them take on Mulk

My dream Ninja Warriors 2 scenario: One of the OG five survives somehow, and basically becomes Skynet. Raises a secret army of killer androids, cyborgs, mutants etc. Now Mulk is on the ropes, again, forced to deploy even more perilously advanced prototypes. Absolute technomageddon; who will rule Once Prosperous Nation, and will more than its ashes remain?! Would allow for some properly intimidating enemies - machines created to kill machines - and also a neat "History repeats itself ONCE AGAIN" finale. ^__^ (or hell, even something a bit more philosophical - can men and machines coexist? all cutscenes skippable though! O_O)
