Me and my stepfather would play this together all the time. The memories! He’s gone now, but this game holds a special memory. This video makes the game look short, but back then it would take hours because this game was hard. What I wouldn’t give to go back to the 90’s playing this with my stepfather on our 19-inch Magnavox television with built-in VCR!

Thats awesome this game is nonstop, full throttle. It don't stop for a minute and after each level you have to put the controller down and take a break cause your adrenaline pumping so much

Man this run is impressive! The old consoles are the only ones i’m worth a damn on…but this game was brutal on normal mode. That final level is just nuts…specifically the final boss(brain) hit points…Bravo man!

Contra III, where Men become MEN!!! I have fond memories playing this with my then best friend. We would always pose on the first level when the bombs dropped from the plane. This game is pure testosterone!

Nice run lots of memories. This is actually the first SNES game I ever got. Back in the day for Christmas. I had to chose a game. I chose this one thinking It was the first one on NES. (Did not knew it was on SNES) So I got this for Christmas, No SNES to play. In the end my mom went back to the store and bought me an SNES.

Wow! I would never have thought to use laser and whatever C stands for. And the swapping back and forth! I need to bust out Contra III and git gud. I couldn’t agree more with your assessment. After Castlevania IV and Contra III, I was extremely excited for the future of the SNES library. But mostly all we got was regular ol’ sprite games with no focus on special effects or proper music. Granted, Axelay and Super Metroid came along to save the day, and there are other stand out titles, but Contra III is the total package.
