Beatrice Bridgerton. The twin sister to Benedict and eldest daughter to Violet and Edmund Bridgerton. Like her twin, Beatrice has quite interesting pursuits-- particularly of science. Flora, fauna, and most especially geology and archeology have always enraptured the young woman. But of course, the responsibility as the eldest girl-- to set an example for her younger sisters-- have put a pause to passions. Not that she minded after marrying the love of her life and bore a son whom she cherished dearly; she could simply impart these passions onto her offspring. But fate decided to play a rather cruel joke on Beatrice. After a harrowing case of Scarlet Fever, her precious boy's life was taken at the age of two. Not only that, but the strain the child's death had placed on the marriage between Beatrice and her husband has driven him to commit adultery, marrying an old flame of which he had reconnected with. At the age of 24, she was already faced with the scandal of divorce sought by her former husband and the Ton's doubts of her skills as a mother. Since then, Beatrice has then grown rather jaded at thought of love and romance. Despite this tragedy experienced, it has presented an opportunity--Beatrice is now free to do as she pleases, allowing her to retreat into her passions for science; nevermind the whispers revolving her status as a "spinster" or her love for stones and plants. As the years go by, she has sworn off love completely; supporting the romances and marriages of her siblings was enough for her... That is until the widowed Marquess of Scarborough, Lord Laurence Kingman, came to London to accompany his younger sister to partake in her very first season and introduction into society. After meeting at a rather lush ball hosted by the dignified Lady Danbury, Lord Laurence and Miss Beatrice seem to find a common interest in the realm of science. Since then, the two have developed quite a rather solid friendship, one that ressembles that of a geode: it is a friendship may seem unassuming and simple on the outside but complex yet no less beautiful on the inside. (This playlist is amazing! Thank you so much for putting together, I thought I'd also have a go at writing something(written before watching season 3) There will always be positives and negatives about having a large family, that is without a doubt. Being the youngest never bothered Isabella. How could it when it meant getting a pass on almost everything. Didn't attend a ball? Who cares the rest of the Bridgerton were there. Somehow managed to get caught on a table and shatter everything on it whilst trying to out run the cook? Doesn't matter Daphne is getting married. Oh how beautiful it was to get to see her siblings grow up and watch their stories unfold. Isabella would sneak into Daphne's room and let her speak about her troubles, whether Izzy understood them or not. Collin and Benedict just got home drunk screaming up a storm, yet no one would be able to tell you who was making the noise because somehow the doors had all jammed closed. Keys were probably the easiest item to obtain. Yet what does one do when everyone's story has been told and yours is up next. Daphne was now a Duchess. Anthony had a Vicountess at his side. Collin finally woke up and came to his senses. Each and everyone had their time. It wasn't like Isabella feared being in her season, far from it. The dances, dresses, diamonds, and balls suited her quite well but unlike her sibling's the life she led was a much more simple one. All the acquaintances she had came from friends of her siblings and despite her willingness to talk on and on about whatever subjects, she never really understood people enough to read them. Which meant she couldn't trust, a key factor of her self-isolation. All the dance classes. Every hour spent on the piano and violin. Wasted. No matter how hard Violet or any of the other Bridgerton's tried. Izzy was always alone. My dear readers... Isabella Bridgerton had the best story of all and yours truly was the only one to witness it. A Spanish family moved into the now empty manor of the Featheringhton's, after the rest left to go to the countryside. The middle child of the couple had taken a liking to miss Isabella. Often turning up outside the door to their house, flowers in hand, whenever they were just about to leave. Cleary not aware of the courting rules of the ton but spirited enough to try. He danced with her at the balls. Sent letters and tickets so that the family could go to exquisite shows far from the ballets and orchestras of London. It was a true whirlwind of smiles and laughter. I believe Isabella to have been undoubtedly grateful for the hours she spent in solitude learning languages from every country she could think of. Yet life is a strange mistress. As quickly as they came the foreign family left. The Bridgerton sisters spent weeks negotiating with their youngest sibling to go out with them. In the end it was one Benedict Bridgerton who convinced her to give life another go. That next season she found a respectable man who'd give her space and freedom in exchange for giving him marriage status so that his family would get off him. Of course as true romance would have it. As the aisle was dressed in flowers and people got into their positions. One motion ended it all. Daphne grabbed her eldest brother and the priest before dashing outside. Were in the foyer of the palace stood a man on his knees begging to a lady dressed in white. It was there that Isabella Bridgerton became Lady Isabella Porta De Los Santos. As she had done for them at their most scandalous points. The siblings and family additions covered for the newly wedded couple. Benedict and Anthony stalled the unimportant lord's family as Eloise and Penelope wrote a heartfelt letter for the groom to find stating that Isabella did not feel fit to be his wife and so on. Collin commandeered a coach to take them to Aubrey Hall to lay low. Hyacinth and Gregory packed up belongings on Izzy's behalf. Kate and Violet ensured all was kept hushed among staff. Before the two disappeared to Aubrey hall. That my most attentive readers is the fast and short version of the 9th Bridgerton's story. Recounted by lady Whistledown in a diary now squirreled away in the vast library of Aubrey Hall. (I like to think Penelope would have written it on scraps of papers she had lying around when the moments happened before transferring to a diary because she didn't expect to have to write it)

Had a go - my idea is to use the song titles as the theme for the chapters. I’ve only done the first chapter. It was getting rather longer. - Nothing Holding Me Back - Iris Bridgerton, the younger twin to Hyacinth St. Clair née Bridgerton, was fed up of waiting. She had been engaged to Charles Cowper for nearly the entire season and she was nearly at the end of her patience. Her mother, the Dowager Viscountess Violet Bridgerton, had insisted that she and Charles wait till the end of the current season before they would marry and return to their county homes. It had been nearly three months. She had begged her mama to let them marry early but her mother remained firm; after all, Iris would her last child to get married - how could they rush? Well, Iris had other thoughts. She was not going to let her mama’s opinions hold her back. She planned to speak with Charles at the Hastings ball this eve. “Ah, sister!” Her eldest sister, Daphne, beamed at her. She had her hand tucked into her husband’s elbow and her exuberance made Simon smile. “Mama tells me your gentleman, Mr. Cowper, has proposed!” She smiled conspiratorially and whispered. “Well done.” “They were betrothed since the womb, Daphne. What else would you expect?” Hyacinth responded with snark. Iris groaned. She would have hoped marriage would have tamed Hyacinth a bit but alas, she had not been fortunate. Her elder twin sister had become more rambunctious, if anything, since her nuptials. Hyacinth had been the bolder of the twins. She fought constantly with Gregory, their fourth brother, so much so that much of the ton assumed they were the twins. In contrast to her siblings, with the exception of Francesca, Iris was demure and introverted. She loved her family as large and boisterous as they were. As the youngest, she looked up to all of her siblings and their partners, even Hyacinth, for they had enviable love matches. She liked Mr. Cowper quite a lot. He was kind and listened to her. They were barely out of leading strings when they became friends and that nurtured a quiet adoration which Iris was glad to finally have after seeing her siblings marry and live their happily ever after endings. Her second sister, Eloise, frowned. “I must confess, when he did not honour your betrothal with a proposal during your first two seasons, I had thought he meant to cry off.” Seeing Iris’ look of hurt, she quickly added, “but of course, he did not.” At Daphne’s admonishing expression, Eloise quickly swallowed her glass of lemonade and grabbed her stepdaughter’s hand. “Pardon us, sisters, I think Amanda requires….” She trailed off and quickly made her escape, dragging poor Amanda behind here. “On that note,” Iris sighed. “I am going to find the gentleman in question. Excuse me a moment.” As Eloise had tactfully said, Charles had failed to propose her first two seasons out in society. He had implored her understanding - as his father’s heir, he had a duty to manage their affairs and make their business connections. Charles had wanted to improve their social standing before marrying Iris and ensure that he could keep her in comfort. With such sound logic, how could Iris have ever argued? She bided her time and waited patiently. True to his word, he did propose during her third season. However, this enduring wait had to end. Iris was firm. She was going to speak with Charles and nothing was going to hold them back from getting married. Nothing. - Say Something - Iris was in shock. “Say something, Charles!” (That’s all we have time for today, folks!)
