@@DeemiGod Really, the whole concept is genius for a show continuing and making do with an actor potentially departing. Bill Hartnell is getting on in years? Let him bow out and write in a new actor. Not even a lookalike but a new face and revamped personality for the character, one the actor can make his own. I ponder if any other fantasy or Sci-Fi series has attempted this sort of thing. Most I can recall is Beetleborgs.
@lightningjet94442 жыл бұрын
The reason why it happened in season one is that Chris only wanted to do one season, as it’s a show that’s stayed dormant for decades suddenly being reborn and Chris didn’t think it was going to be that successful, so he regenerated into David tennant and the show became insanely successful again, but by the time it was really popular again Chris was kicking himself and wanted to do more episodes, but couldn’t for continuity reasons.

This is the best regeneration by far. No grandiose speech beforehand; the doctor uses his final moments to explain the process and put Rose at ease. The effect looks great as well. I dislike how every successive regeneration tries to look like this, because it doesn’t work nearly as well - especially with how good the transition from 9 to 10 looks.
@davidrust31692 жыл бұрын
I definitely agree that most regeneration scenes after this were over-done. Except... Except for Peter Capaldi's. For him, the speech and complexity really worked. I think that was because his Doctor was exactly that way: full of insight, explanations, and speeches. For me, 12's regeneration has become my favorite. :)
@tank20452 жыл бұрын
You've given me a new way to look at that...Regeneration for 1 through 8 has always been a one-off, unique setup and change. Doing all of the new-Who's in nearly the exact same way wouldn't mean much to the newer viewers of Who, but for the fans of old-Who this is a major change in how regeneration works...Thanks for the insight...
