The Nisse (Goblin) and the Grocer | A Danish Fairy Tale

In this video we hear the story known as The Goblin and the Grocer, The Nisse and the Grocer or Nissen hos Spekhøkeren in the original Danish version by Hans Christian Andersen. This version of the story is from The Pink Fairy Book by Andrew Lang, with the term "Goblin" replaced with "Nisse" to be truer to the original fairy tale.

Nisse are the good dwarfs, Trolle are the bad one. Heinzelnisse = Heizelmänchen in german. Julenisse in Norsk is Santa Claus

Wow! I did not expect that conclusion. It gave me pause as it feels profound and I think I may understand it’s message. Perhaps it’s hard for us to give up worldly comforts for the spiritual life, or something to that effect. It seems it could be applied in many ways at at different levels. Thank you for sharing! ☺️💖
