Bobby Banas is a legend! I still watch his original dance.

As an American ...I must say this group of young people have done the best capture of this dance since it's inception in the early 60's...even surpassing Americans. Major respect.

Bobby Banas couldn't have imagined that he little dance he made up in an hour would still be imitated 60 years later. Glad he's lived to see it.
@midgemooney690826 күн бұрын
When you watch Bob Banas you will notice that he doesn’t always look too happy. It’s because he wasn’t supposed to dance but one of the male dancers didn’t show so he had to step in. And he made dancing history.

I often watch the original video with Bobby Banas to hear the song and the algorithm sent this video to me. I love to see modern dancers in vintage clothes try this dance! Wonderful!

I used to take classes from Bobby Banas in L.A. and I think he's still one of the most underrated dancers of that era.

Wow, 50+ years after Bobby choregraphed this at the last minute for a TV show and people are still using his moves. You guys seem to be having fun and that's all that matters

Didn't older people always dislike younger people's music and vice versa? When I was young I thought I wouldn't be one of those people... That I would like newer music. But it sucks for the most part
Hey, this is good so do not get me wrong here but why is it that when I see people redoing dances from long ago is it always missing that certain something. Like a spice or flavor is missing. Not every time but a lot of the time. You guys really know the choreography though and what a great song.

I find that to be true also, retro-mod dancing never seems to hit the mark for some reason, however it's always fun to see dances spanning generations.

This group danced very well, but Banas' fluidity is lacking in the "locked legs" part.
@thhanh10039 ай бұрын
it's just that they don't put any passion in it, is all. This just looks like a dance class assignment

I like the video but just in case you don’t know the Nitty Gritty was not a dance during the swing era, it’s from the early 1960’s during the rock and roll period

When I saw the church ⛪️, I thought “Dammit, Janet” of Rocky Horror Picture Show 💋. Wish they’d done that instead, especially cz they had the church & the gravel! It’s actually pretty hard to pull off those jazzy Bobby Banas moves. Making the body look so loose while making it all look so easy could use a little more practice. What’s important is the fun, and these guys look like they’re in it for love of the game 💃🏽🕺!

just make sure you dont import the people singing this song or you have to dance to escape the cultural chaos they just happen to bring everywhere they go. Just sayin.
