R.I.P to my older sister Lisa. She passed away this past September. She absolutely loved this song. Now I can play it and I know she's in paradise, dancing on the stage of memories 😢

What a time! I graduated H.S. in 96 and the rock/alternative music of the 90's takes me back to certain times and memories of people I only thought I forgot about. It brings a warm calming feeling over me.

I lived in Tulsa from 92 to 98. When this song came out, Z104.5 got so many calls for this song. Hondo and Chuck were the DJs at the time. Played it a lot. I miss being 20

Contrary to popular belief, his sister is not dead. They both lived in Oklahoma and grew up very very close. When they went to pursue their dreams (him a musician, her a movie producer). They didn't get to see eachother much so he wrote this song for her. No one is dead. It's all good. :)

I've always known the story behind the song. It made me sad when my sister when my sister was not near, and now that she is gone from my sight, it hurts all the more.

I always get choked up listening to this, thinking if anything ever happened to my sisters. I don't get to see them nearly as much as I would like to, and it's sad that life is going by so fast, I wish there was more time to spend with them. So in the sense I'm still fortunate to have them in my life, I do miss them in the sense that I wish I could see them more.

My parents were simply ignorant about how to support and raise us. We were very poor growing up and my sisters and me always weathered every storm together. Today one them is a nurse and the other a private investigator and I’m a professional photographer. We made it together, and this song got us through some hard times. Peace and love to everyone from Houston,TX.

This song is specific to sisters, true, but the message is universal. My brother would sing parts of this to me now and again back in the day. When I hear it I think of him in that the lyrics mean the same to me, but towards my brother. We have always been close (and still are) but time, family and life in general doesn't allow us to get together as often. But when we do I think we both get revived and cherish our time together. This is such a meaningful song but it makes me sad.

Everytime I hear this song, I think of my one friend who's is like a little sister to me. It seemed like no matter what she's going through in her life, I've stuck by her side through thick and thin because I love her so much.

This song touches my heart. I grew up with four sisters. Two older. Two younger. I wouldn't trade it for the world. It taught me how to use the bathroom very efficiently! Jokes aside, I love my sisters! :)

I just want to leave a quick note here, "If you are suffering from alcohol or drug addiction and you happen to be reading this and listening to this song then for all that is good and gracious, please please please reach out and you will Get Help" I lost my baby brother a couple of days ago to drug addiction. Somebody took advantage of his drug addiction and sold him poison, let me repeat that again someone sold my brother poison and murdered him... Drug dealers aren't your friends.. please please reach out to your family because I know the way I'm feeling today I don't want anyone else to ever have to feel... If you suspect that your loved one maybe abusing alcohol or drugs please don't hesitate to blow the whistle, tell on them and ask for Help. I miss you so much Mathew Orville Jude 2/15/1982 - 5/29/19. I'll never forget the day you dedicated this song to me or the first time I heard you play it on your guitar to me.... 37 years young, I love you Little Bruddah💔😭 I've never known a pain like this in my heart and I don't wish it on anyone.. If you are suffering from Alcohol or Drug Addiction Please please please Reach Out & You Will Get Help"

I don't even HAVE a sister and this song damn near brings me to tears. I don't know if its the lyrics or just because it reminds me of being a hopeful & optimistic pre-teen in 1995 contrasted with 2018 when I'm a 35 year-old curmudgeon. lol That being said, I've always loved the line "Half of me breathes in you." Fucking beautiful!

It hurts I know. My lil bro got 4yrs. While in there my mother passed away, it killed me. I cried for him, finding something like that out while in cages. He was put in the hole for 6 months. He is home and I feel some what myself again, I'm 14 yrs older and if there is a next time, I am not making my self sick trying to save him. We r very close. When things seem like they can't get worse just know I was there in that pain 2. I am a felon also. No amount of people around you can take away the mental anguish. Lonely n a room full of people.
@melissalake99386 жыл бұрын
He is home now I hope. I hope you get this message soon, just so you know, someone else knows pain and loneliness, I could have been around a thousand people and I felt like I was the only one there. I am growing, it's nice. I told myself that I can't take myself to prison with him again. And I won't. It's time for me to find myself again.
