I enjoy seeing Becca with you, but I stay away from Bibles directed toward a targeted audience. As a woman, I completely understand that we tend to be emotionally driven. But as a student of the Word, I prefer to avoid devotionals, and stay with more historical and archaeology based study notes. I'm sure I'm not fully articulating what I mean, but hopefully someone out there gets my drift. It is definitely pretty though! :)

yes!! this is why i was a little disappointed with the she reads truth bible. i'd heard amazing things but one of the first devotionals was about a mom whose little toddler was sad his balloon flew away and he was crying and upset about it. i may not be remembering accurately but she kind of twisted it to be about how the balloon is our sin and the little boy is a sinner for wanting his balloon. it was kind of jarring and took me totally out of the word and was absolutely distracting. instead of focusing on the word, i was focusing on how sad i felt for the little boy who didn't understand and had this entire analogy made about him published in a bible forever that millions will read. it just felt weird to me and made me kind of uncomfortable with then content.

As someone who worked on this Bible through the publication process, I can tell you that it isn't just a devotional Bible. The study notes are actual study notes. And the features explore the areas in the Bible that are difficult or seem to be against women when they really aren't if you understand the context. So if you are worried about it being strictly a devotional/emotional Bible, you shouldn't be. Also, it is a Filament-enabled Bible, which means you have access to thousands more study notes, interactive maps, and a whole host of other study and devotional material in the Filament Bible app-and that's on top of what is in the printed Bible. So I understand your concern, but this Bible really means to drive women to study the Bible and understand it, not just be driven by our emotions. That's what the tagline is trying to get across-it's for the heart and mind. It ties it all together. I've seen some rough women's Bibles in my day. This is taking a holistic approach to studying the Bible. And I think it does a really good job of that. So I would encourage you to check it out and see what you think rather than choosing to ignore it because it is a Bible for women. I understand that thought, but I would say this one is different.

I have it in the hardback copy! I got it for $28.99 when I preordered it. You know it is a great bible when Disciple Dojo said that he was keeping it as a part of his personal library! Very cool video. Very informative. Love how well you work together -- especially supporting her when she said she was nervous. I found you overtalking Rebecca on this video though. Made it harder to hear what she was saying about the woman's Bible. Would love to see her design perspective on future reviews of women's Bibles. Thankfully there are so many to choose from. After watching this video I had to get one. I ordered the beautiful Sky Blue leather like and it is "gorgeous". The cover is so soft and pliable. I received my Bible and I rewatched the video as Becca reviewed it. It is so much nicer in person. I love how much information is in this bible. I’m always looking for some sort of visual of family trees and other things. It is very aesthetically pleasing as well and incredibly affordable! I’m catholic so I would always feel like I’m missing something without the other books in it, so I wouldn’t buy this for myself but I am highly considering buying this for a friend!
