The NNL West 2024 Model Car Show

It was a very well attended event so I tried to film while avoiding disturbing anyone; I did the best I could to capture all entries. To my knowledge, unlike an IPMS model show, there are no specific categories or judging, although themes this year included Mustangs for the 60th anniversary of the car, and anything without four wheels (motorcycles, trikes, big rigs, etc).

That was my first NNL West and the very first show that I've ever brought models to display. Too bad next year is the last one. I could see myself going every year.

@@scaleffect It would definitely be cool to get the group together! Do you attend any other local/semi local shows? I've been attending the NNL's since 93, was a kid back then! This was the first year we made it to the Friday night Slice of the West, that was cool!

@@LeftCoastModelCarBuilds I've only been in the hobby a couple of years now, but back in November I attended the Tricity Classic in Fremont. For the remainder of this year, I'll be at the IPMS Fresno show on Feb 17th, I am hoping to make the Sacramento IPMS show sometimes in May (haven't seen a final date yet), and I intend to go to the Silicon Valley Classic this year in June. I also grabbed a flier for the NNL show in Holister in September, I'd like to try to make that one too if it works out.

Rising costs and decreasing members of their organization were the two main reasons that were cited as to why they want to discontinue the event. I am still hopeful maybe someone will step up and take up hosting it going forward, but that venue has to be very expensive due to its size and now proximity to the 49ers stadium (it's right across the street).

must be nobody ever build's corvair & Vega models anymore.even a 1/8 scale 65 corvette models.but I'm shur their hard to get .so expensive on e -bay.

Nameless National Luminaries according to Google. Not sure where that comes from exactly, I'm sure there's a history to choosing that interesting name.
