You inspired me to get out and play today even though it was 38 degF. I got one par and several others almost par. It was great! I'm really cracking my shots.

This is the best explanation that is free to the public. I've been golfing for four months. I learned it on my own. I tried to learn from KZbin videos, but they did not teach the way I learned it on my own --and you are showing it here. after learning, it's actually incredibly easy and it makes the swing way easier.. it's so funny, how all the instructions try and gate keep the secret. if I wanted to make money, I'd start a KZbin and give little tidbits, like elbow inside .. it's impossible not to do your elbow inside. When you do the right wrist position ..

I’ve always said to hit the inside of the ball. Kinda feel just doing that makes me shallow out. I think you can also shallow out by keeping the shoulders quiet at the start of the backswing

The holy grail of golf, the undeniable key to good ball striking in all clubs. Thank you so much as it works a treat, so much compression with the irons, when rolling the wrist away from the watch - awesome OMG!!

Really appreciate you. I landed on one of your earlier vids months ago and have been a regular viewer since. I really enjoy your teaching methods as they seem to connect w me better than others. My game has most definitely improved...per se....I'm regular in the mid 90s, but can fire an 85 on occasion. If I gave more effort to my short game I know I could shed 3 or more shots. Biggest thing I want to stop is....Thinking about every shot! Thanks for letting me vent. Appreciate ya amigo.👍🏌♀️

The use of the tennis racket is brilliant. Really makes it easy to understand what's going on with the club face. This was were I used to struggle when I changed my swing from being over the top a couple of years back to swinging from the inside, I just couldn't figure out how to keep the club square at impact. But this is a great visualisation of what the wrists also need to do to make it work.

Yes! I just tried this in my backyard on me Mat and it seems to be perfect! For irons, it is the same move but not as shallow as the driver. This is golden mate. I really hope I can do this at the range :P Cheers!

Very nice video. I had an instructor that had me do something very similar with a plastic netting behind me. The clubhead would slide down the netting behind me. When I couldn’t slide down anymore I would than rotate and close the face into impact. On video as my feel .. the shaft felt like it was down by my hips super shallow. And the swing felt very around from that point. And not chopping down on it. Draw after draw after draw

A previous lesson you gave worked for me, and it was placing the ball with the logo down and inside a bit and letting my body do what it needs to hit it correctly. Didn't have much trouble squaring the face. This eliminated a lot of swing thoughts. Thanks, good video!

Hi Alex. This is great stuff from you cos it is exactly what i had been doing this summer on the range. And if i felt my club came down like what you said, the contact of the ball and the club face felt really amazing and the ball would have a really nice baby draw. And the feeling is incredible. Thanks for sharing your tips and drills Alex! Will definitely keep working on this indoor since winter is here in USA where i live.😁👌👍👍👏👏👏

Hi Alex, another great tip, it’s now 5 am in Melbourne (Saturday m) so with this one and the tip from yesterday I’m planning on spending an hour on the driving range this morning before my home club round today. Hopefully, I’ll end up with a sub 80 round. I know I keep thanking you for your daily insights however they really I start each day on a positive note and that goes above and beyond just for golf. I’m really loving your channel. Thanks mate. 👍😎🇦🇺

As as right hand dominant person I cannot focus on left hand wrist so I think about dropping right hand versus left motorcycle. You also have to mention not getting hands away from body to prevent a blocked shot. At full speed a golfer like you does it naturally but an amateur is going to end up with hands way out there.

@@AlexElliottGolf Could have been better but I broke 100 for the first time at the course we played. Somehow on a links style golf course with 5 trees, I managed to find every leaf. I think I played pretty well overall, but I need more confidence in shots now. I have greatly reduced my slice using many of your tips, but now I find myself aiming for a slice and ending up left so I need to trust myself and aim where I want it to go

Is there a tip to help with doing slo mo swings. What sort of feeling could be used to avoid me always feeling I have to be quick on the down swing otherwise I'm just going to bury the club into the ground?

This is the truly number 1 video in shallowing club. Most videos only cover part 1. I feel you went over part 2 too fast. If you can go a little deeper on how to turn the knuckles to square my club face, it will be much appreciated. Thanks

Fantastic video! I’ve been struggling to understand and implement this move. I can’t wait to try this drill out. Is it okay to start with a 6 or 7 iron or do you recommend driver? Thanks!
@AlexElliottGolf8 ай бұрын
I would say irons first

Hi Alex, I find my shots are better when I have the sensation as though swinging at the ball towards the target like a tennis swing; thus having the flow of the club head swung towards the target. However, I think my ball flight goes a tad bit high and the ball is like floating 30-40feet in the air especially using lofted irons like 8 iron and above. Is an 8iron shot supposed to go high? My 8 iron goes 130m and I am using Callaway X20 iron set.
@eddielau70626 ай бұрын
From someone new to golf, this move is hard not because of the concept, but because we do not know when to turn what body part. For example, you are shallowing, keeping your arms still, then you start rotating your hips, and then at some point, your arms take over and finish off the swing. I think that sequence is where we get confused the most.

Why shouldn't I take away the club more shallow and not as high up in the air? So I dont have to shallow it down so much on it's way to the ball. Am I wrong with this idea?
@AlexElliottGolf3 жыл бұрын
i’m not too sure what you mean pal?
@Bauchfalte3 жыл бұрын
Sorry, my english is not perfekt. But, you take away the club very high and this mean you have to shallow it down in the begin of the downswing. Wat about not taking it away so high but only in the hight of your shallowed downswing start position. Would this not be much more easy.

My biggest problem is trying to remember not to sway and keep my right arm straight, if I can get those 2 things to happen the ball will go down the middle.

Alex this video concerns me as dropping the club like that for the average player with a slice will be worse than it already is... If you turn that racket forwards instead of backwards like you do the club will do the talking... Doing what you suggests even with hip turn the club will get stuck behind you?....
@stevedickson30373 жыл бұрын
Believe me, you couldn’t get to where wants you to get. My pro had me doing this, I thought the same as you. But it works. What he tries to get you to do, and what you actually do are two very different things. You end up launching the thing.
