Because Insym does it for content and tries to push it on a higher priority for the devs. The devs benefit a lot more from Insym's hours in the game for the sake of bugs and promoting the game for them, than they do from banning him. They have somewhat of an understanding. Insym never does this in public lobbies either, so it doesnt affect them. You will get banned for actively breaking the game in public lobbies. This is true for a lot of games. Back in DBD, when using the double mending bug for Legion was bannable, that was only true for public lobbies. You could use it to your hearts content in private lobbies against friends,

You can do anything with this game, as long as you play solo or with friends, and I mean close FRIENDS who enjoy the game the same way as you do. We once found how sound sensor have wierd collisions, we have a video but didn't show how it works. It was fun

The important distinction is that Insym says to not do this *with strangers in multiplayer.* If everyone involved is cool with shenanigans, then go for it. You'll never get banned for just breaking the game. It's when you get reported that's an issue, because you're ruining someone else's game experience.

So in VR you can pretty consistently phase through doors and walls, making the no key challenge pretty easy to pull off. All you need to do is place yourself against a door/wall then move physically towards the door/wall a couple steps before then using your stick to move in game.

I wouldn't really define this as a true arms race. If the devs really were angry about players using glitches to get into the house without the key, they'd make it so that doing anything inside the house before the door is unlocked would just instantly kill you or something to that effect.

The devs are pretty chill about most stuff so I assumed that they left it like that (not killing you instantly when you go inside without key) on purpose

@@another-artist no key challenges are also good for the devs since it shines a light on these bugs. If players just instantly died entering the house, plays may not look for the bugs anymore and if they find them, they won't blow up in popularity as much as these since you can't make content out of it

I need to go back to PhasmoVR to see if all the clipping issues have been fixed, or else there's another way to do another No Key Challenge, on Tanglewood it's very easy and consistent, but for other houses it would require a bit of brute forcing your way throught a wall in a corner.

I actually hate that the devs patch niche stuff like this. Like yeah it's a glitch, but you're never gonna do this on accident, and it's fun for veteran players. I was the most upset when they took away teddy bear collision :(

13:30 You can grab an item that's stuck in there from between the boxes, when you look towards the stairs. There's a small gap between the boxes and you can grab the item that way. Source: A friend has thrown the DOTS there once and we needed it.

As I understand it, the way the DOTS Projector works is that it randomly scans to see if there's a ghost in range, and if there is, it spawns the DOTS ghost. If that's right, that would explain why it works when the ghost can't interact with anything. I also got from one of the Phasmo Mods that the range of the DOTS Projector is a circumference of about the length of the Tanglewood garage and goes through walls, which is why it sometimes happens where you get Goryo DOTS when you are in the same room as the projector, because the Goryo could have stepped outside the room while still being in range.

You can do any map any time with vr. Walk forward in real life, don't move with left thumb stick until you're where you want to be. If you don't have enough space in front of you you can go as far as you can then rotate with right thumb stick and move again.

23:00 The ghost actually exists on the same position normally as during an event or a hunt, so unless the hunt resets him to a non-idle state, the last position where the ghost was should remain that position. That and the ghost absolutely does not move. So getting salt should be tricky unless you know where he is or trigger a change in state.

another fun glitch you can do is, activate the ouija board and leave itin the ohuse in front of the door go outside and pick it up from outside. then the ouija board is a little glitched.

I don’t know if anyone cares, but I recently discovered that if you dupe the Tarot cards, the person who doesn’t see them in their hand (who also sees their hand in the other person’s hand) can infinitely pull cards as fast as you can click. Used this glitch to get the hanged man like 15 times at once, filling the death room with bodies.

It would be very interesting if you made a video showing the best and worst RNG you've had in a game. Best RNG being if you enter the house and you can almost instantly determine what ghost it is Worst RNG being its just not doing anything at all and it takes you way too long to figure it out

Not a programmer, but I feel like there's an easy solution here if the devs really wanted this gone, just make the ghost and sanity and all that active on map load instead of door unlock. I think the devs haven't done this for two reasons: 1. Every time someone finds another way in, it's just highlighting a bug that might have only been found years later if it weren't for people trying to play keyless, and 2. It's fun and they know it, so yeah, sure, patch the bug that causes that one instance of being able to do keyless, but why not leave it in itself as a fun reward for bug testing for them?

there is glich where you can pass trough items if they are "deleated" from the game files, or something like that. Not sure how it works, but it did happen when I reinstaled visual studions on my PC. This glich alows you to pass trough any "deleted" item from game, work in multyplayer, you can also pass trough walls and some maps are broken becouse they have foundation, and you cant walk up, Any buggded item becomes PINK

9:00 Your sanity shouldn't be completely stuck. Last time I tried this, the mirror drained the sanity. I also played with custom draining settings as well which should completely halt your passive sanity drain completely. I know that it was once that way but I think that's not up-to-date info.

so the main way i see to stop this is have the ghost activate the second the truck opens not when the door is unlocked or to the most extreme the second the equipment loads which doesn't happen til all players load or when the first equipment is picked up im sure other no keys exist but escaping the van would be harder and you have no equipment thus cant play the game

I wonder if the developers know that to fix the "no key challenge" you don’t have to fix bugs that allow you enter the house without a key. You just need run the game if any player has entered the house. Checking only the front door to start the game is a very strange decision. Anyway, it's interesting to watch.

Actually there was a girl in the previous map asylum that was named patient 007 or Lisa who was moved to the new map Sunny Meadows where she was kept forever and she died there. You can see her dead body in the morgue and there is a special ghost model for her a girl in white pajamas. Also there is an easter egg in one of the isolation rooms in the basement of Sunny Meadows which you can see with the UV light or glowstick.

Day 1 of giving update ideas that most likely won't happen but it would be cool. Idea : new dying animations. Idea for the idea : in place of only the hands showing up it would be fun if there would be different animations like : whem the ghost kills you from behind there is 50-50 for the hands and then there is like randomly standing and your neck being broken so the camera does a 180 towards the ghost and you drop with your vision slowly fading away. Some rare ones would be cool too. Like a 1 in 100 chance for the ghost to do a jumpscare like randomly tp'ing in front of you and running towards you hella fast or any other jumpscare that the devs would make.
