This is really good content buddy, stumbled across your channel. Be happy to support you going forward, keep up the sports talk. I also agree about the audio but it really wasn't all that bad. Maybe try and do a couple episodes on more specific topics too, like previews on each division, Tell us a little bit more about your background and what your favorite team is, etc. Take a look at what other streamers that do, what you do are doing and how you can do it differently or better. The thing with Wilson is that everything was kind off against him from the start. Here is why I think people flipped on Zach Wilson 1: He never should have been drafted that high, he was always a developmental pick that needed to learn 2: He never got that chance to learn, the Jets are idiots and threw him straight to the fire, which is the worst thing to do with developmental QB's 3: Every time it looked like he could get a chance to learn, something catastrophic happened, he get's to learn behind his idol.... and never mind Rogers gets hurt the 3RD PLAY OF THE SEASON. 4: He showed he COULD do it, in the Chiefs and Texans games, he showed his true talent, he showed what he is capable of. 5: Geno Smith. He left New York, learned and developed, and suddenly he looks like a capable starter 6: He was drafted by the Jets. The only worse place for a QB to go is Cleveland. He had a defensive HC, which cant develop QB's and an OC who hated his gut's for seemingly very little reason. Mike LeFleur HATED Wilson from the day he got hired and we don't know why. 7: Guys only 24, if he goes somewhere and get's a chance to learn behind a good QB and develop, like what the Jets SHOULD HAVE DONE FROM THE BEGINING, he could still turn his career around, like Geno. I'm not defending the guy, he hasn't been good, by any stretch of the imagination. But he's shown he has it in him, and he's still young, I think he needs to get the h*** out of New York and develop behind a competent QB for a year or 2, then give him another shot, if he still sucks, he sucks, if he pulls a Geno, we can all sit back and laugh at the Jets again for being the second worse organization in football (only behind Cleveland of course) Also he did show some growth off the field and was pretty humble and knew he wasn't playing how he should this past year, that builds a lot of compassion for people who don't watch him that much, everyone loves a underdog who has a character arc, especially when that arc is them learning to become a more humble person.
@Theopinson_57

I agree somewhat. The Jets definitely drafted him too high, but I do think hiring Nathaniel hacket killed him. I wouldn’t say the jets “ruined” him since it would’ve been an uphill battle due to how raw he is, but they definitely shot any potential he had. There’s a tiny chance he bounces back but I’m not sure if I see it

Great video, and great topic. I've been sick of these excuses for YEARSSS. It's amazing that Jones made it past 2021... You acknowledged he got lucky, and it's so true (i've said the same thing). The finger was always pointed elsewhere... Weapons, O-Line, Injuries, etc... 2022 was pretty flukey, and the results in 2023 is what they get for lying to themselves. I cannot wait until he's released. His situation sucked, and Jones is a below average starting QB. Both are true.

Option 1 - draft a new QB and tackle (QB first, then the lineman) to replace Evan Neal; Neal can move to guard if he needs to. Jones is cut or traded Option 2 - Start Tommy Cutlets as QB (give him some work over the offseason, such as working on moving in the pocket and reading the defense), draft a tackle and then a WR (tackle is priority so that would be first round, then WR). Jones is cut or traded Option 3 - There’s no hope left for us giants fans. We just need to accept that and give up 😢

He’s frequently done enough to win games but one thing or another kept them from winning the game. He doesn’t get a complete pass for last year but hardly his fault anyway. He’s shown glimpses of real high talent, if they can protect him you’d see greatness even without upgrading the pass catchers around him

The thing with DJ is that it's not just the situation and high draft pick. It's that he's legitimately flashed great moments and seemed like he's got something cooking. He also proved that he was the 2nd best QB in his draft class. He was the most "Is he the guy?" guy I've ever seen. I do think at this point it's clear that we have to move on regardless of if he's the guy now. Even if he could have made it, the team have ruined his development now and it's better to just start over.

I agree for the most part. Only caveat on ZW, his year wasn’t as bad as you alluded to. The O was just downright terrible. And furthermore, it was terribly run. Saleh and Hackett and co. are out of their depth there. Wilson ended top-10 in on target%, for QBs who started in 10 games or more. His WRs dropped the most passes per attempt in the league. Their OLine ranked bottom-2. And the 23’ benching referenced in the video. The coach came out the next week and said he made a mistake and wish he’d never have done it, their offense got worse. Even elite talent like BH, had a 7 week span through the heart of the year where he averaged less than 1.8 YPC. That said, like you mentioned in the video, that argument won’t hold tread for ZW like it did for DJ. ZW is gone. Likely battling for a backup spot or bridge starter, perhaps in a new city he’ll finally gain his footing- perhaps not.

The most important thing to remember is that the Giants DO need to keep Daniel Jones. They committed a ton of money to him and don't have the type of roster to support a rookie QB. Hold on to him, be ass for a few years while you rebuild your line and receiving corps, then go get a young QB of the future. It worked for the Chiefs, it's worked so far for the 9ers, it can work for anyone willing to stick with it that can hit on their draft picks.

One thing I’d mention is that the arguments of a lack of weapons, OL, defense, coaching, etc. aren’t “excuses” unless the QB is flat-out ass as well. One of the traps people who think they’re far smarter than they actually are fall into is that they constantly screech about explanations being “excuses.” Daniel Jones has had plenty of areas around him that’ve been shit to one degree or another. He’s also never looked good to great outside of the first year with Daboll, and even then it was a run-heavy offense where Daboll coddled him. That was his absolute pinnacle of play.

I haven’t gotten through the first minute and I’m glad someone finally made a video about this topic. Bad organizations stay bad due to their inability to evaluate talent at the position. Generally a young quarterback’s situation determines only whether or not they hit their floor or ceiling. If you’re that dude the “needs more talent” argument isn’t used because a dude can work with what he has and elevates every unit of the team. Tavaris Jackson didn’t have enough weapons, but Favre’s MVP caliber 09 season did with the exact same personnel? The list of examples are endless. You’re either the dude or not. A revitalized Alex smith and Ryan Tannehill still limited their teams ceiling.

Not only those 2 games, but also Zach Wilson led his team down 3 with 24 seconds left to 58 yards and a Field Goal.

Just a little correction, Zach Wilson is on the jets since the draft of 21. He got picked second after Trevor Lawrence. But I'm absolutely with you on both of them, gotta say that as a giants fan. But I wasn't a big fan of DJ since his second season. That man is something else. Hope we get rid of him even if it means dead cap. Denver had the balls to do it, why shouldn't we? Good video man, keep it up!

1:02 This is ironic because you show Justin Herbert with Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, then Josh Allen who was a bad qb until he got Stefon diggs then show Lamar who valid hasn’t had a supporting cast also took until his 6th year to throw more than 3,100 passing yards in a season

As a Giants fan, who’s done with Jones, a lot of this was on the money. The contract extension DJ got isn’t as bad as yall think though. The team can get out of it after the 2024 season. Also for future reference Joe Schoen’s last name is pronounced Shane. Great video though man!

Did you use the classic sock as a DIY pop filter trick? Might be why the audio is so dark. Adding some treble via EQ will improve that in the future.

I'd recommend a hyper X quadcast or a blue snowball as budget mics that are good and don't require XLR. The video is great tho, I look forward to watching more content from you.

This video is too well done for your mic to be struggling that hard. You can get those clip mics you see all the time for less than 40 bucks. But the video is solid and I think you have a good angle on this debate. I’m subscribed.

The giants have some talented receivers but they can’t ever get the ball in their hands since DJ gets pressured almost instantly, Hyatt and Robinson can be playmakers if actually used to full potential

I think the high draft logic is similar to the sunk cost fallacy where teams are afraid of abandoning picks that aren't good because they spent a lot of resources on them.

I guess franchises are terrified with the quarteback position, to a point they draft a unhealthy amount of first round busts. Out of the golden boys drafted between 2016 and 2014, you can count on your hands those who showed up and became solid players. It's the greatest QB drought I've ever seen (started watching the NFL in 2014)

We are not saying the giants is the franchise quarterback. We are saying that even if he had that talent he wouldn’t even have the opportunity to prove it. And that’s the problem. Inside of going to a new quarterback or drafting one we need to build and fix the offense around the quarterback position and if he does not play good then good a quarterback in a good position where can develop correctly
