Do they draw the mother's blood like a normal blood test? I'm trying to figure out why my doctor says these test can cause harm or a miscarriage.

That’s for when they testing using a blood sample from the fetus sack . The needle could puncture or harm the baby in that case. That would be the invasive prenatal test I believe.
