The easiest way to defeat the water temple was doors, furnaces, coal, axes, pickaxes, and swords. The doors block the beams, and gives you an air pocket. Then you get to the sponge rooms, break the sponges, and cook them, and you can easily defeat the temple by draining it of the water, and making it so the guardians only hop on the floor.

pete i dont know if it would be worth it money wise but what if u farm for the mob drops like string and rotten flesh and trade for emeralds, then trade the emeralds for the iron armour? since its not craftable, during pvp events u would be harder to kill and be the strongest.
