I did the motherhood thing. The wife thing. My friends did the career thing. The independent thing. They are thriving. I am abused till bleeding, divorced, my child abandoned and I never recieved my mahr. Most of the women around me have similar stories. I’m not a feminist but now I truly get why women needed to get out of the house and fend for themselves. I wish I had done what my friends did and never followed advice like this.

Salam alaykum. It is quite dangerous to put comments like this because other young females may take this into consideration and start doubting Islam. Allah (swt) tests people in different ways. Your friends who you think are so happy and thriving could be getting tested in other ways like loneliness, depression, stress and so on. We do not know what is going on in other peoples mind. Maybe your marriage was your test to see if you will be patient and turn to Allah (swt) or be ungrateful and be angry at Allah (swt). It is very difficult to be patient when we see other people thriving and we want what they have but Allah (swt) tests those who he loves. Money will not help us when we are standing before Allah (swt) being judged for our deeds. Turn to Allah (swt) and complain to him. Be patient and try your best to see what you have that others might not have like deen, family, friends, food, water and so on. May Allah grant you sabr sister and may alllah make it easier for you.

You said you wish you had not followed advice like the advice in this video and you also shared your personal story but you want me to leave you alone? this is a comment section in case you did not realise and I reply to whomever I will in shaa allah. It is public. I only wanted to uplift you and remind you that Allah swt is with you. He does not burden us with more than what we can bear. I truly understand what it feels like to be in an abusive or toxic marriage because I myself have been through it at a very young age but I let it bring me closer to Allah swt and I did not allow it to change my idea of how beautiful marriage is. May allah guide you sister.
