Hey!! . Hope you're well. I've been researching a lot and after reviewing the North Face bags I decided to go with the Base Camp Duffel. The thing is I'm unsure if I should choose M or S. I want to use it as a Carry-On bag (my backpack is really light and the bag). Can I stick with the M? What do you recommend? THank you!! :)

Good question, unfortunately that's a tough one because the Basecamp Duffle Medium MIGHT work as a carry-on with Southwest Airlines. I took mine. But keep in mind that my bag was not completely full so they might have just been nice to me. But the Basecamp Duffle Medium WILL NOT fit in any other Airlines carry on size requirement. The Basecamp Duffle Small should work on many airlines except Spirit and a few others that have VERY strict carry-on rules. My recommendation for you would be the Northface Basecamp Voyager 32L. Its just the right dimensions for pretty much all airlines. I just got one and I'm working on a review for it.

Yes, Southwest Airline will usually allow it because their dimensions are bigger for carry on than most airlines. DO NOT try to use the medium base camp bag at Spirit, Delta or American. Those airlines have smaller dimension allowance for carry ons. But ultimately it really depends on if Airline worker at the gate wants to be nice or mean.

I'm planning to take my chances with my bags.I have both the small and medium ones. I’m going to pack all my stuff in the small North Face duffel, then put that small bag inside the medium one. Most major Southeast Asian airlines allow carry-ons up to 56 cm x 36 cm x 23 cm, so I’m hoping I can squeeze a few extra centimeters. If needed, I’ll just take the small duffel out and compress it to make it fit. Fingers crossed everything works out!

do the backpack straps remove?

Sadly, even if I buy an authentic bag, some people will think it's fake because I'm a person of color. But some people will also think my kislux is authentic.
