That's the funniest vest I've ever seen with that jiggling. A little stunned how a company as large as the North Face could release this.

If i had watched this video before, I would not have bought this vest. (Crying...) I invested a lot for my first trail vest, but really hateed that jiggle jiggle the very first time I tried it (I even thought that was normal for a vest since it was my first one)

I solved the jiggling issue by simply adding a backpacking strap around my belly and the lower strap of the vest. This worked for me more or less

Hi, Do you have a photo of your solution?

Can you recommend a fairly minimal vest just for soft flasks and small pockets that doesn’t have a crazy wobble problem?

Thanks for this!! Was hoping to get one secondhand but that bladder issue is a make or break ~

What vest size did you choose? What size T-shirt do you wear?

you can remove the water flask by sliding them on the hook plastic 😊

Glad I watched, will not be buying one of those! I am looking for a vest for a marathon where I can carry lots of water, without needing to rely on aid stations, any recommendations? Lightweight but definitely no bouncing bottles!

Did you every find that product?
@marchills30742 жыл бұрын
Try putting kit in the back. This will make the vest fit smaller and will be tighter against the body.
@TheRunTesters2 жыл бұрын
Hi Marc, I tried that. But still not a comfortable amount of bounce. And I think you really want to be able to use this without having to carry stuff in the back. It’s an odd one as the rest of the vest feels pretty well thought out in the main.

I am doing research for this vest. Seen many reviews say that is a failed product, but I still want to give it a try. LOL. It could be the sizing issue... with a smaller size, it could have no bouncing at all. or I would use the backpack for storing water flack instead...
@TheRunTesters2 жыл бұрын
Hi (Kieran @manvmiles here), I don’t think a size down would change the bounce and it’s a vest that comes up quite small elsewhere anyway. Would recommend looking at alternatives like the Salomon or Montane.

@The Run Testers haha I see... thanks um.... I do have a second choice, the Salomon Sense Pro 5 M size which is a perfect fit to me.

Camelbak and Salomon have perfected hydration carry for my needs, everything else is a copy. IMO.

why cant they make the vest longer below your butt area? the vest is to low on your shoulder blades?

I have a iphone 13 pro, and a ricoh gr3 pocket camera. can you suggest of which running vest to use to allow me to take them out to take photo or video or searching the map very easily? Thanks
@lhchar2 Жыл бұрын
i am using the Ultraspire Alpha 3.0 as my running vest. i can put my iphone on the side pocket vertically. putting on the front pocket is way to shaky when running. for the pocket camera i can only put it inside the bag, which takes a pretty long time to take it out.

North face is primarily a fashion company, not performance orientated.

Not sure we’d entirely agree with that. But this comes up short for sure.

@@TheRunTesters they teamed up with gucci last year, sponsor celebs and feature frequently in fashion articles. They have stores on most high streets too so a huge part of their expense as a company is on branding/marketing. I'm not doubting the quality of their products but i don't think they are focused on competitive running wear. My only experience with a running product of theirs was a waterproof lightweight outerpants for fra race regulations in the UK and my immediate thoughts after using it was that the design wasn't well thought out.

Thankts for the review. Any suggestions for a good belt or minimal vest for a 15-20km run to carry a (soft) water bottle for warm summer times? Most options I found are designed for 25km+ runs with rather large water bottle options and lots of storage places I don't need (which makes it typically rather big then).
