Thanks for reviewing this bag. George Defined reviewed the 2018-19 model of this bag, which convinced me to hunt down a used model. It's far & away the superior version. Better harness system, bigger & more well-thought out admin section (it felt as big as some smaller EDC bags all by itself) with some cool additional dual front access pockets, & the main compartment definitely helped it back up its advertised 41L carrying capacity. The only thing I'll say for this model is that the shape/aesthetic is more similar to the other bags in their current line. Either way, I wish they'd bring this version back, or at least port the admin section to their other bags.

Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! Seems like most people like the old north face layouts better, wish I had used more of them before they changed them!

The quality is better if you use a version before 2020. After 2020, the quality of The North Face Backpack become cheaper.

I am also looking for a used 2019 router after having watched George's video. If you find one, please give me a shout here. Will really appreciate it

I bought a Fjallraven Raven just because of your videos. Great bag! Btw do you know if you can use the front hand strap as a trolley strap?

Thanks for the review. I like the older Router Transit a lot, but after a few years the top handle is about to break loose so here I am again... It looks like they switched to ripstop nylon, but the older version was a more rugged material that was smoother-the newer ripstop nylon makes it look like a wrinkled up camping pack. I like the older outside front pockets, but these look ok. The newer zippers look less substantial-they went cheap. Thanks for comparing it to other packs too. 40L to me is a great “transit” pack for me to get back and forth to work. Some days I use all the space, and I never collapse the pack

Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! I wish I had a chance to use more of the north face older bags as many seem to prefer the fabrics and layouts that were used on those

This ones a chunker. Still think it's recon > borealis (interchangeable depending on pref) > surge > this guy. PS Danny, you should do the Thule Aion 28L...would pair well with your upcoming osprey 26+6 review, both expandable packs.

I have an older version (I think it's about 2018). I used it regularly for about 4 years, so it's pretty worn out. While it worked fine, it's a little too big for an EDC bag. I think it's better as a travel backpack.

Thank you for watching and sharing your experience with the older version! Good to hear it held up pretty well and I agree this size is better for travel

@danny Packs, can you share how you used the 2 loops for luggage pass through? Is there a elastic belt or something you can buy that can sturdily hold when hold to a suitcase?

Hello, thanks for the review. Would you recommend it for traveling? Let's say a trip to Europe for a month or so? If not, which brand or model can you recommend? Thank you!

Thank you for watching! I thinking can work well for traveling if you don’t need a clamshell bag (which I prefer for traveling so I would lean towards bags like the Patagonia mini MLC and the aer travel pack 3 small)

Are the straps durable relative to other North Face backpacks? They do look slim for 40L

Having used this bag for half a year, I mostly like it for many of the same reasons as mentioned in this video. However my biggest problem is the lack of comfort when wearing this bag over load, the straps are very thin for a bag this size, also mentioned in this video.

How do you see the durability of the materials? I'm afraid to buy it and that after a while it will start to flake from the bottom

If it is done similar as earlier model internally, then the top of the bag from internal side is coated with rubber layer, which peels after 2 years because sun/age, then you have completely non resistive bag. Just nylon. Otherwise bag is strong (earlier model).

Would you say 40l is true or not? How many liters would you estimate the main compartment to be?
@dannypacks
@dannypacks Жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! I think it’s pretty close overall especially accounting for the volume on all the compartments, I think the main area feels like 33-35 liters

Saludos.

Could this bag fit under an airplane seat without getting in trouble and told to put it in the overhead compartments?
@dannypacks
@dannypacks 11 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching! I think it could work on certain airlines but if the bag is full it gets pretty bulky and might hard for it to fit properly under the seat
