Hey Snorre, thank you for your comment :) Just to make sure, I don’t see where I said that the 12m Reach is good from 6knots, but it definitely flys nicely from 10knots, and me with 80kg I feel good on it till 20-22 knots :)

Hi! Great review! What about Orbit 12m 2022 in light wind? Can you go upwind similar with the Reach 12m? I have a Reach 12m 2021 and I am not happy. I am thinking to take an Orbit 12m 2022 ...

Hello, 12m Reach 2022 I definitely like much better than 12m Reach 2021. I'm not a fan of Orbit in big sizes as they need lots of wind to fly properly, I would say that 12m Orbit need 3 knots than 12m Reach to fly properly as Orbit is a 5 strut kite so it's heavier. But if you have good strong wind with 12m Orbit I believe it is lot's of fun to jump around.

Hi, Thank you for your comment :) I'm sorry that I cannot give you an honest opinion of F-one Bandit as I didn't kite with it from 2016, so I believe that the new Bandit is quite different.

What’s the difference between reach and orbit top end? I don’t know if just pick a reach 9 for boost, foil and surfboard or go for an orbit and a monostrut as I weight 95kg 😅

Definitely choose 9m Reach if you want to use it for foiling and surf, and even boosting is amazing.

Hey, I tried 13m reach 2021 and didn't love it, great in low wind but in a bit stronger wind the kite pulled very hard and I had to fight it. My biggest kite is now 11m orbit which I love but needs around 16-18 knots to be fun @70kg. I am thinking of trying 12m reach in 2022 or newer maybe. What do you think? Did you try 11 or 12m orbit as well and can compare?

Exactly, the Reach 2021 was great for light wind, but being over power on Reach 2021 was not fun, very difficult to keep the control. Reach 2022/23 is definitely way better, in all the points, even for light wind very good, just with less bar pressure so sometimes seems like it's not enough but you actually can kite easily. the Last 11m Reach I tried was 2020, so I can not tell you the difference between 11 and 12m Reach 2022/23.. As well the last 12m Orbit I used it was from 2020. I believe that Orbit 11m or 12m would be better for a hang time than Reach 11m or 12m, but Orbit needs more wind to start flying properly as it is a 5 strut kite so it's heavier than Reach. I didn't test yet the North 2024, but hopefully I do it in October.

I’m planning for so long to test a Reach 2023 and Reach 2024 during 1 hour session and make the video about it so I can clearly tell you what exact difference I feel, but unfortunately(luckily) I’m at the moment super busy with my Kiteschool and I do not have time to do so. For now I can just tell you that I feel that the Reach 2024 has a better hang time.

Reach 2022 11m could work on me 80kg with 14-17 knots? I would buy 11reach 8 orbit but i need to understand the low end of the Reach. Other option 12 - 9 but i don't know the high end of the 9 orbit (32 knots?).

Hey Luca, to decide easier what quiver to buy it's important to understand in what conditions you are usually riding and in what discipline you are in, big air, freestyle, freeride..? I can easier and faster help you over my Patreon account www.patreon.com/kitesurf Your idea of having Reach as a bigger size and Orbit as a smaller size is great. I can tell you that with 11m Reach with 80kg you should be good from 15-25 knots, 12m Reach from 13-22 knots. Orbit 8m from 25-40knots, Orbit 9m from 20-35knots. I'm 80kg and this is approximately how I felt with those kites, but honestly the Reach 11m 2022 I did not kite with.

I use Navigator 50-55.. I have been using in past 45-50 bar for kites 9m and smaller, but lately I always prefer to use the bar 50-55 even with the 7m kite, to have even faster kiteloops

Hello, Yes I have been using Cabrinha bar with North Reach.. Easy to connect the lines on the kite and the feeling while riding is pretty much the same as with Navigator(North) bar :)

Hey Andreas, thank you for your comment :) That it is true, for an average kiter definitely not recommended to buy a new kite every year, I would say it is ok to sale and buy new kites every 3 years :)
