NL, a harness is the "body" version of a collar, and the leash is the "rope" attached to the collar or leash that you hold onto. A lead is usually, in my experience as a dog trainer, just a shorter leash (usually 4 feet instead of 6 feet) that attaches to a Gentle Leader, which is a "harness" attached to a dog's or horse's mouth for more control. A traffic lead is a 1-2 foot long leash that is meant for your dog to walk right beside you in high-traffic crowded areas. In the US, "leash" is more commonly used because dogs are usually walked on 6ft long leashes instead of with leads. Unless you own a horse or have a working dog, you won't say, "lead" as much when referring to its leash.

In response to the "can't open your mail without a warrant" comment, It's ridiculously easy to acquire a warrant if it trips the automatic sniffer they have at the majority of post office places, plus if the package is dropped or in someway opens "unintentionally" enough to arouse "legitimate suspicion" they don't need a warrant.

I need to get this off my chest guys because you know what? Skynet is here! I have a very wide monitor setup, to the point where I can have 4 different windows side by side no problemo. So I was watching this NLSS on one monitor, while on the other I was simultaneously looking for a new mousepad on amazon in one window and looking up wowee in another window and I swear to god! By the time I reached page 4 of the amazon mousepads, about 60% of them had dogs on them! I was like: "This can't be real right? Some bored NSA guy in a dim office across the atlantic is punking me right now ... right?"
