The way Eggers handle with mythology is so beautiful and haunting. He is able to keep a realistic dimension to talk about humanity and his struggles, but at the same time he is able to look at the bigger things that float over us. Amleth is a human being and no more than that, and he represent every human world nuance; but the vision of him carried by the Valkyrie to a cosmicism version of Valhalla it’s not a speech about our world anymore, it’s a speech about the beyond.
