Jusst finished bnge watching the last four years! Your resilience and peristentence are remarkable. I admire the perseverance you've shown in an unending stream of bad luck and misfortune. One thing you two should be particularly proud of is the quality of work you've put in and the beautiful home as the product of your labour. NICELY DONE!!!!

The brush broom was crazy creative! 14:09, his face... Yeah, the thicken epoxy trick is neat... You could not have inserted a sheet of metal of proper thickness, as a sleeve, and weld it? Maybe too thin to weld?? 19:37. Logan got tired of being "gentle" LOL. Glad to see it all fits together. Getting closer!

We could have put another sleeve in like what was originally in there, but welding wouldn’t have been great because of the layers of steel that are there. So hopefully this holds up 😅

I may wind up asleep for the night before I get to watch the whole video, so I wanted to throw this in now. (1) Bravo to you for the fortitude you are showing in sticking with this crazy, bottomless well of a job! (2) I'm a words/spelling/grammar geek, and had gotten frazzled enough over the variable spelling of the word "Cutlass/Cutless" as it occurs in the boat world, that I actually did some freaking RESEARCH and found out that the "misspelling" that I had been self-righteously, though silently, indignant about, is actually the PROPER spelling... The edged weapon, favorite of pirates, is a "cutlass." Check! But, when you write about the thing that stops water from coming into a boat where the propellor shaft exits the hull, it's a "Cutless Bearing," as in "The way this bearing is designed, it CUTS LESS INTO THE PROPELLOR SHAFT than the older design did!" Well... there's my dissertation for the evening. I hope you found it entertaining. LOL! All the best, you lovely sailor/boat/photographer people! And remember, Keep it Shiny side up! 🙂

Lol believe it or not I researched which one was correct ages ago when we took the bearing out, and then forgot and used the one I liked better at the time 😂😂 I’m always into hearing about other peoples research and info haha. Thanks for sharing.

1:21 if not Logan, use the old mig trick, I’m pretty sure you know it, build up a weld and weld a bolt on nut to the striped one.. pretty sure you know it because we seem to have the same skill set..

Looks like a boat, are you putting the old engine back in and if so have you done a rebuild on it ?
@WaywardLifeSailing
@WaywardLifeSailing 9 ай бұрын
The engine was brand new when we bought her with only 400 hrs on it currently, so it’s just going to change fluids, replace some gaskets, change routing of a few things and pop it back in!

So, curious, why did you not want to put another bushing in choosing in favor instead going with epoxy? was there not a bushing the correct size. We have an upcoming cutlass (or less) bearing replacement in our future, so enjoying learning from you. I think as I watched more, you may have answered mu question...the bearing you are using is a higher quality, but a bit bigger...Is that correct?
@WaywardLifeSailing
@WaywardLifeSailing 8 ай бұрын
Yeah, so this bearing was supposed to fit in pretty smoothly, but I guess with slight measurement differences it just didn’t.. and also there was the issue of the tube being two different thicknesses due to being machined. There are lots of way to go about how we did things, and putting it back together the way it was when we got it is def one of them. We were just hoping to make something that worked better. Whether or not it will is yet to be seen 😂
