I bought a Nightster 1200 in Vivid Black and thankfully it came with V&H Short Shots, Screamin' Eagle intake, official H-D Single-Sided Swingarm Bag for the 1200, a Drag Specialties solo seat, and a nice low profile sissy bar (not a backrest). Already having those upgrades, all I needed to do was install all LED lighting (headlight, signals), upgraded to Iridium IX spark plugs, installed a LiFePO4 Lithium battery, and added a headlight cowl. I will be ordering the H-D Combination Digital Speedo/Tach and Screamin' Eagle 10mm PHAT ignition wires next week! Loving this bike 🔥

The first upgrade I put on my Sportster was custom dynamics LED lights all around and a brake light modulator. The stock halogen lights are horrible when I was riding at night. I use my Sportster for commuting so I ride at night often. Having my brake light modulator combined with upgraded lights makes my night riding much safer.

Only modifications to my Sportster are louder pipes that still look pretty much stock, but give it that Harley sound, a small chrome sissy bar, leather saddlebags installed with Easy Brackets, chrome sidecovers to replace the black ones, and some parts in the clutch to increase reliability. Stock clutch parts work fine, they just don't last very long. I'm done. Everything else is perfect.

In this order: -sundowner seat, much more comfortable with passenger pillion. -passenger footpegs -heated handgrips ( lots of winter riding) -luggage rack/Mini sissy bar/ small storage bag -engine guard -Forward Controls - super comfortable riding position -Vance Hines Slip ons -Front turn signal relocation kit -keyless ignition with security system. ( I think this drains the battery more) Next: I need to dump the OE Michelin Scorcher Tires as they are dangerous on wet pavement, as I laid it down because of wet pavement and poor traction on wet roads. Metzler tires are supposedly much better on wet road surfaces.

My 883 sporty with 1200 kit has interesting history: met a guy that had model collection around his kitchen. But required to own real thing for one year! He bought this sporty to get addition to his model collection (he never drove it for 1 yr, didn't have endorsement) then after one year, sold it to me to buy another rig an model! I added list of accessories including buckhorn bars, forward controls, etc.. Our family made wedding cakes an catered wedding an parties. At a wedding big guy with sleeves, inspects the bike (I mean with magnifying glass inspection) then asks if it's for sale? No, but everything has a price I say! This guy is President of Portland Motorcycle Club comes back with a friend an trailer. First mod for me was a LED headlight. Gotta be seen out there.

After upgrading just about EVERYTHING on my Sporty, the best and most noticeable mod would be replacing the front and rear suspension. HUGE difference, a totally different bike! One of the last "mods" I did was take my swingarm bag off because it didn't look right after I changed the bike around, and for those who have one be careful the paint doesn't rub off your swing arm or battery side panel!

I'm eyeing up Suspension next.

@@TheMotoJawn Your mind will be blown! Haha I have upgraded everything, and I mean just about everything from seat, bars, forwards to mid controls, carbon fiber body panels (front and rear fender and side panels), different colour tank from a 2019 industrial gray forty eight, suspension front and rear (progressive monotube cartridge and progressive 490 sport series shocks), brakes front and rear (radial tokico caliper with speed merchant bracket, 11.5 inch brembo floating rotors front an rear with a lyndall racing bracket to fit the larger style rotor with the factory rear caliper, brembo pads, xr1200 master cylinder, braided lines), TMF chain conversion, built s&s 1250 with feuling cams, feuling lifters, feuling valve springs, hammer performance push rods, oil pump gear, and a shit ton of aesthetics (replaced all chrome with gloss black or flat black and even replaced all the bolts on the motor with gloss black bolts from HD) and so much more and of it all, suspension was like riding a completely new bike!

A swing arm bad is just an accessory. Hardly consider that an “upgrade”.
