Get well soon Arith! I watched your video with a bone spindle in front of me, dating back to the 5th or 6th century. It's been carefully carved and decorated with nine 'spokes' around the hole in the centre. Knowing the mythological importance of this number, it struck me how the bonecarver (as I am one myself) really did his best to balance the nine spokes out in double lines where 2x4 would have been so much easier. I wonder what the number and the spindle meant to it's owner, some fifteen centuries back. It has a religious or even 'Seiðr' feeling to it. After all, it was found at the 'Foarryp' in Wijnaldum, where gold and almandine jewellery and runic inscriptions were discovered that hint about a local cult of Freyja, Freyr and Woden. Maybe the owner of the spindle spun more than common yarn? I wish it could talk...

I don’t know if this truly has merit or not but I read this earlier and thought to share as it seems fitting with your video which was excellent by the way. The Trinity was introduced into the church in 432AD by a Druid named Hilary de Poitier of Poitier France when he and his followers were converted. This is why some churches use it, so it is the continuous belief that runs through them both. However, the origins are Druidic and the church acknowledges this, even teaches this.

Thank you for your video. There are many points to bring up. 1st of all the nine being associated to females could be an expressed attempt by the female psyche to dominate the male psyche which appears to be more often associated with the 3. We see this attempt to portray a dominance over others by the LGBTQ+ hierarchy where the females come first in the lineup. You never see the lineup read as "GBTQ...L+". The Females wouldn't here of it because they exhort an underlying matriarchal orientation to dominate and subjugate the male psyche in all its dimensions of activity. As for the 3 being related to gods, let us look to the deep past when humanity was confronted by the rawness of nature and the 3 phases (or moments) of the bright, shining, glowing Sun called dawn-noon-dusk. The sun is indeed a god with three aspects that when adopted by pagans was stolen by Christians and later called a Trinity. And this was later referred to as "3 persons in 1 godhead", thereby referring to the three phases in 1 sun. When we speak of origins or an originating influence of the 3, and decide that many ideas are not due to Christian influence, we need to be reminded that if we look outside the realm of mythology and religion/spirituality, we encounter a cognitive feature called Science. Surely, a list of threes in anatomy (and Nordic peoples no doubt looked at the structure of the human body), we find multiple examples: www.meddean.luc.edu/lumen/meded/grossanatomy/threes.html. Let us not also forget to mention that the earth is the 3rd planet from the Sun, though this idea may not have been widely seen in the past, if at all. No less, while we of today count three basic atomic particles, those in the past did not, unless someone had the perceptual ability to discern the pattern and translate their perception into some "three model" consistent with their language and culture in question. However, if we say that the three solar phases had an initial influence on establishing the three in human conceptualizations and physiology, a close look at genetics supplies us with a triplet code in DNA/RNA, not to mention triplet micro-tubules, three germ layers, and a language system which describes a three-patterned SOV (subject- object- verb) word order; not to mention most people holding a pen or pencil with three fingers, three college degrees, and in particular, due to the importance of hearing and language... we find a recurring usage of the 3: www.threesology.org/language-3s-1.php. Understanding which threes in mythology are or are not due to a Christian influence is fine, but outside this realm of consideration lies another one which needs to be considered so that the usual intoxications of the 3 drug cocktail called religion/spirituality/mythology doesn't produce an opiate-like den which fills more textbooks, movies, and lecture halls... all by those who can not wrest themselves away from the typical three-patterned mantras of which OM (A-U-M) is frequently used.

we primarily use 9 because of the 10 "handy" digits (pardon the pun ;) ) but there is another (very powerful) race with only 8 digits (thus the importance of 7 everywhere) ... and I personally hope another with 16 (which makes binary conversion simple for them - probably had computers before they had wheels and fire)

Absolutely fascinating as always. I was made to consider the significance of the number 3 in Hellenistic and Roman religions too, which suggests that the number is hugely important to the human spirit. Apart from the “holy trinity” of Isis, Osiris and the infant Horus, were there other “instances of the number 3” in Egyptian mythology, I wonder. Do we humans simply like the number? After all, it has been recommended as a narrative device for millennia. Thank you for giving me plenty to think about 🤔

I know this is not strictly (or at all?) relevant to "viking" stuff, and some of it will seem insane, but if you can, stick with it There are many believe the reason such numbers are preserved in various religious texts is because the numbers are important, and should not be forgotten, even if sometimes it seems the numbers were preserved but the reason for their preservation has been lost, nonetheless, i give you sacred geometry 1 day = 24hr = 1440 min =86400 sec (1+4+4+0 =9, and 8+6+4= 18, 1+8 = 9) A circle has 360 degrees, these degrees are divided into 60 minutes each, or 21600 minutes of arc, these minutes are divided into 60 seconds each, or 1,296,000 seconds of arc (2+1+6+0+0 =9, and 1+2+9+6 = 18, 1+8=9) Diameter of the Moon is 2,160 miles when multiplied by 108 it gives us the distance form Earth to the Moon 233,280 miles Diameter of the Sun is 864,000 miles when multiplied by 108 it gives us the distance from Earth to the Sun 93,312,000 miles Diameter Earth 7,920 miles (averaging out the bulge, oblate spheroid) (do i even need to do the successive-addition to show what these numbers add down to, or are you already seeing it?) There are a whole lot more of these, Im just sharing here the ones i remember, i recommend you search YT for SacredGeometry if interested, Randall Carson puts it all much better than i can here It should be noted of course that some of it... shall we say gets a bit weird, as people start trying to prove the existence of aliens and/or Atlantis such because of it The bible is also full of such numbers, especially revelations, and most famously 666, which of course = 18, which = 9 But looking at it analytically, and pushing aside some of the crazier theories, there's too much for it *all* to be coincidence, at the very least it means the people who first invented the Mile (and the inch etc) knew that it would give these results (they knew the size of earth, the moon and the sun, and took this into account when inventing their system of measuring, The Parthenon in Greece, the Pyramid of Cheops, Angkor Wat in Cambodia, Stonehenge in Britain and many other remaining ancient sites are built according to dimensions that add back down to 9 Almost all of these sites are, or were, holy in some way I suspect if we had a few more ruined "Viking Temples" they too would have had similar dimensions Ooh, and one Arith overlooked (i think), there is said to be 27 Valkyrie, 3x9

Re: Sigurð laying the sword between himself and Brynhild, I always found it odd that the Niebelungenlied seems to suggest that he did indeed force Brynhild into intercourse, and this stripped her of her powers, whereas the earlier traditions in the Poetic Edda have no suggestion of this. I rather suspect maybe this came from a christian chivalric tradition rather than the original Germanic, but I could be completely wrong, of course...

In minor sports I always asked for the #3 followed by #9 if 3 wasn't available in fussball or ice hockey those were always my choice in numbers since I was a child very curious to find this ancient connection in numbers. My favourite animal is the Hase or Hare and the name of the river that passes through my 1240 year old City of Osnabrück in Lower Saxony is called the Hase. The battle of the Teutoburg forest in Kalkriese in 9 AD occurred just 11 kms north from where I was born in Osnabrück which was found by King Charlemagne of the Franks in 780 during his wars against the local Saxon tribes. The Romans lost the 17-18-19 Legions some 2000 years ago in the Dark Forests of Northern Germany. Our ancient pagan gods still flow strong through my German Soul and Mind to this day. Many would never understand the bond between Heritage Customs Culture and Tradition.

The viral vector patent wars are raging over which pharmaceutical mncs will dominate the major world markets. It looks like a major European supply chain might tip eastward for the first time in a century as the Sputnik vector is gaining respect. The only way to tell the difference between the vectors is to read the nomenclature down to the letter-number sequences (e.g. Ad26 v ASD1222.) It's a good time to be clearing heads, doing some animistic alchemy and educating ourselves about the influence of magical number symbolism on our minds, emotions and bodies.

@isty44913 жыл бұрын
Its an interesting thought, and im not saying its wrong But it is more likely it simply came from early humans first developing mathematics by counting on their fingers Just as modern children do when they take their first steps to the world of maths To expand on your idea though (or both ideas), we are often taught to count 1,2,3,4,5, on one hand, then 6,,7,8,9,10 on the other However math can be done more easily, in your head, if you think of it instead as 0,1,2,3,4, then ,5,6,7,8,9 Theres a guy who has vids on YT that demonstrates amazingly quick math, and he claims this is how its possible (i really wish i could recall his name) I'll be honest, i think i came to it too late in life because im still pretty bad at math Just to crow-bar this second form of finger counting into pre-christian europe a bit more Think of Zero as Ginnungagap, followed by the 9 troll-women gods who birthed the 9 realms Its definitely an over-simplification, and certainly not in the slightest way true, but its an interesting way to think of the decimal system of counting relating to 9 Im sorry if this is all a ramble, it all just sort of came out when i read your comment, hehe look what you did to me :)

A gem as always Arith! As with others hope you are feeling better. I always learn from your research, of which I greatly appreciate. 🤗🤗🤗. I am going to make you, and probably everyone else, groan now. Let me premise this is I know how "accurate" the portrayal is. So in "Vikings", the writers in one episode showed the 9 year celebration in which they showed the sacrifice of all the animals. My question is how accurate, in your opinion, was when they sacrificed 9 men? To me, it was nothing more than theatrics. But have you heard/learned if that would even have been thought of? Seems like a waste of 9 vital men. And please, no hateful comments. If you want to, leave laughing emojis. 😁😁😁😁 Again, great as usual!

Is this your attempt to down play the Sevens I plaster all over your channel, so far it's about women and births, their 3 trimester or 9 months which is 3x13=39 weeks or 3+1+3=7, even hides in the 3 trimester 9 month creation of a child, they didn't see 9 planets up there so it didn't come from there there is not 9 days in a week I have not ever found 9 in any cycle with the planets most if not all of the importation constellation are groupings of 7 stars and IF you do better research you'll find that it is the 7 not the 9 playing a roll in the design of nature, it is the 3, 5 and 7 I see, 9 is the end of the road a completion number after it our numbers start again with 1 just adding a 0 to make ten but 0 is not a number amount. Divide any number by 7 and you'er meet with the same string of number after the decimal not seen unless you look close but they are the same sequence of number 714285 only thing changing is the starting point, it is 7 (1 week) 14 (2 weeks) 28 ( 4 Weeks) 5 is 50 or 1 Week + 2 weeks + 4 weeks = a week of weeks 49 days 5 is the 1, when is Pentecost the 7th Sunday of a week of weeks. You got 40 minutes to change my view, I doubt you can. You know me McCullough, Culo means Ass and Mc means son so I'm 'Son of the Áss". Ha Ha lmao
