When the camps were liberated, some soldiers took photos, with their personal cameras, of the horrors they found, because they knew even then that there would be holocaust deniers. That some nefarious actors would try to say (and still do) that what they were witnessing somehow wasn't real.
@s1lm4r1l6 Жыл бұрын
That was the first thing Eisenhower said when he saw it himself. "Take as many photos and as much film as possible, because in 100 years somebody's gonna try and claim this never happened."

I’m so dismayed in the system that allowed these men out of jail for ill health after killing so many without a second glance. Life means life.

@@mufuliramark cannot be. any contact with the family would have been found out. as the other nations kept every family member to the officers investigated at all times. every single one who escaped was fated to end up alone in a poor district of argentina

The difference between conquerors and the Nazis is that, when someone like Alexander the Great burned Thebes and Tyre and sold their population into slavery, it was because they lost their battle with him. They would have done the same thing to him and the Macedonians if Alexander had lost. It was as a result of war. In fact, when Persopolis was burnt, Alexander was said to have wept and regretted. Some say, it was the Beocians that went on a drunken rampage at his party that resulted in Persopolis being burnt. But I digress. The Nazis on the other hand, was doing a large scale industrial genocide against the jews and others including their own to purify the race. They even targeted slavic people who are white because they were white but they were not of the germanic stock. It would have happened with or without the war.

Nuremberg was chosen because it gave its name to the Nuremberg laws which was when the Jews were no longer citizens and lots of other laws were made too.

Napoleon brought a bunch of liberal reforms to places that he conquered, shifting their political systems from autocratic control by kings and nobility to semi democratic and liberal state ideologies. If you look at a map of Europe before the first world war a lot of the more democratic countries throughout Europe were places that he conquered.

Video: *About Germany* Germans: "Zis comment section now belongz to us!" Video: *turns out to be about Nazi-Germany* Germans: "...Nevermind." For those who don't get it: That's a joke and should not be taken seriously. And yes, I do have to explicitly point that out.

Some drawbacks of rules of engagement our military is forced to follow, nowadays. It's impossible to ever win in war. Soldiers are left not allowed to do anything that wins the war, example Afghanistan.
@DevonDaVinci5 күн бұрын
Afghanistan wasn't a traditional war. It's impossible to win a war against an ideology.
@timmyholland85105 күн бұрын
@DevonDaVinci Maybe, but I believe we could have gotten closer to victory, throwing the rule book out. War have no rules. Taliban knew it, we just didn't adjust to how they had no rules. They didn't follow no international laws, there's no trials awaiting them? There is no mercy was their motto!

@@Aithis. The idea that America was hesitant to jump on because they wanted to commit atrocities is extremely paranoid. And the idea that they're currently "bolder" about it is detached from reality. And yeah, the watchlist thing is also completely retarded.

4:20 the war crimes nazis, soviets, and the Japanese did were nothing in comparison to any war crime the US has done in its history. Soviets easily killed nearly as many people as the nazis, but it seems the USSR always gets held as hero’s during WW2.
@MrHat.4 жыл бұрын
The worst crimes the soviets did was execution of PoWs, and forced deportation. That is nothing compared to the systematic killings of an entire ethic group, Purposefully design to bring as much pain and suffering imaginable and unimaginable.
