Read look back, its even better than goodbye eri imo and is another one-shot from fujimoto. Anyways, the way i understand the easy revenge is this: Himeno is telling him that living his life and enjoying the little moments without a care in the world is how he's going to take revenge on the people/devils who took things from him, instead of sacrificing even more of his life to suffer in pursuit of that revenge. It's 'easy' in the sense that he just has to act like himself without worrying about anything else. Just smoking a cigarette that's bad for your future is an easy revenge because you're taking control of your present. It's why he accepts the nut shot tournament from denji, because knowning Himeno's personality, she would actually want him to just 'take it easy' instead of always acting like a professional and being so serious about everything. The scene at the end of him smoking the easy revenge cigarette is an anime-only scene which i enjoyed, because its right after that happy moment with denji and power, who are now Aki's new family and he's getting used to them little by little, so after sharing that moment he smokes the cigarette that Himeno left for him - its a way to both remember her and also follow in her advice by just enjoying the moment, not caring about future consequences( i.e=lung cancer lol).

That makes a lot more sense now. It's hard to tell the timeline of the flashbacks and letters but I'm guessing Himeno eventually figured it was impossible to stop his quest so the best she can do is give him the Easy Revenge lifestyle. But this didn't stop her sister from trying by using those letters. I can't believe the cig scene is anime-only, It seemed too "big" to not be in the manga.
