That's how it was in my day. Men respected women and women respected themselves. There was mystery not just hooking up and moving on to the next unsuspecting target.

I was a always a looser when it came to girls , probably because I’m too shy or I just don’t know had to create chemistry. I’m 21 and I never had a girlfriend. This scene is deep because Jerry here knew how it felt to be unattractive his whole life and probably saw a ton of bad boys picking up girls that he had a crush on . So now that he has the chance, he’s knows exactly what to say because he’s knows by experience how it feel to be left aside. ( yes I know I sound like a “beta male” ) but this is scene is beautiful. There’s much more than meets the eye in this movie .

Let me give you some great unsolicited advice: STOP wanting women. STOP trying to impress them. STOP liking or crushing on them. A woman will leave a bunch of men who are paying her attention, to walk across the room to gain notice from the guy who either doesn’t seem impressed by her, or simply doesn’t care about giving her the time of day. Women want men that don’t want them. But it must be balanced. You can’t be a total jerk - but it’s important to be just the right amount of asshole - essential even. I’ve never chased women. But I’ve had plenty of the most attractive ones by simply not giving a shit. And I’ll kick a woman out of my place in a second if she starts irritating the hell out of me. They always come back with apology - every time. You speak in a manner that’s beneath you. And you act like a BETA. Don’t. Be genuine, but also firm. And don’t ever let a woman walk over you - ever! Insist on being authentic. And whoever doesn’t like it - fvck em! Don’t allow a woman to act as if she’s valuable, simply because she has a vagina. And don’t ever over-compliment. But when you do, let it be germane to what she’s done for herself, for your pleasure - like: “I don’t know what’s it’s like to be a woman preparing for a date - but what you’ve done to do that, looks great on you!” Leave it there. Allow it to simmer. And when eating a meal - let silence become uncomfortable - then make what you speak count. Don’t talk too much about yourself, get her to open up with humor: “if you were stranded on an island with no means of communication and a phone washed up on the shore, who would be your second call? because clearly, I’d be your first!” And then smile. Don’t laugh, just allow that scene to enter her mind. Women aren’t complicated at all. They’re as simple as this scene. It’s YOU that makes it difficult to be around them. Your looks, bank account or BETA status doesn’t matter. What you do in a room does. OWN IT, or somebody else will. I once took a woman on a three State date: breakfast, lunch, dinner, museum, nightclub. Who do you think she talked about to whomever would listen thereafter? I was always that conversation. Be memorable every time you’re in a woman’s presence; but BE MEMORABLE in all the right ways. Right now? You’re too needy. STOP IT! And don’t ever get with women just for sex. It sets the wrong precedence. Be slightly arrogant mixed with assured and confidence. Give women a reason to pause and think! with things like, “let’s do a ghost run, where I don’t get back with you right away, or several days, where you get irritated - and where we make up and you can’t stop thinking about me.” All of this will instantly turn your present situation around. Guaranteed! You don’t need a girlfriend! You just have to begin feeling comfortable in a woman’s presence, and allow her to feel great in yours. Take care! Don’t overthink this! It’s not Rocket science - it’s biology!

My Uncle Nick was the King of the iridescent suits in the 60s. My Dad too. As young boy my Uncle brought my Brother and me to his tailor and had matching iridescent suits made for us to go to a family wedding. The horror on my Moms face is etched in my mind. My Mom didnt know cool. I watch this movie over and over amazed at Buddy Loves suits.

Excellent script and in a comedy both doing a great and convincing job. The storyline great as well instead of the Jekyll and Hyde story in it's tragic theme it's Jerry doing what he does best in a comedy about loving someone with an alter ego.

Stella always played loose women yet in her personal life as she is very quick to say in interviews is that she was the absolute opposite. She used her looks to open doors sure but she’s a smart woman delivering those lines with conviction . She married young and was known to be shrewd in who she dated.

@@carllange4297 yes. And posed for Playboy in the sixties. Nothing wrong with that but back in the day, that labeled a woman as being loose. I don’t judge her.
