I met Booker at a convention and in a Q&A he said a guy he always liked working with was Benoit, despite what we know now. Watching stuff like their stuff in WCW and in WWE years after this show, it’s not hard to see why.

I loved when the announce team saw Buff's "cast" Schiavone said something like "A Doctor would lose his license if he wrapped a patient like that" to which Heenan replied "Or he would work here." The awkward silence that followed was hilarious, Tony and Tenay had no how idea how to respond to that.

Ya, not having a solid base under your feet and still chucking a 230 lb man safely was insane. That goes for both men, for Saturn to trust the very green Goldberg to execute, but also for the effort it took to pull off by Goldberg. Absolute monster

@@DaviniaHill really who wants to sit and do commentating and maybe if your lucky wrestle once in a blue moon when you still feel like you have more left in the tank. Would probably also make far far less money as compared to what WCW was offering him. And just because Savage followed Hogan to WCW doesn't mean Hogan than had to be a utter douche bag and make sure that no matter what Savage can never be in a top spot without me hogging the spotlight. Like when Savage one his first world title he was supposed to be able to celebrate alone in the ring. Yet what does Hogan do during the actual match he somehow politics his way into a different finish where instead of it taking multiple guys to eliminate him he instead has it so the Giant takes him out under the bottom rope but the refs miss it and think he went over the top. All so that instead of Savage being able to get his moment alone with the title. Instead he has to deal with that dick Hogan confronting him in the ring grab a mic and bitch about how he was cheated out of the title.

That finish of the match reminds me of a Cultaholic Wrestling Rankings list (WCW Champions Ranked). They commented on his 3rd reign beginning with an injury due to Hogan shoving Savage off the top rope. They consistered it being a metaphor for his entire WCW career, with Hogan being in the picture. Can't argue with that logic.

These late 90’s WCW cruiser weights were way before their time. So entertaining & did moves that were insane. WCW isn’t what it was without those Cruiserweights doing their thing every Monday Nitro & every Pay Per View. They were great to open the show & get the energy maxed out & set the tone for the rest of the night. I’m still upset that they never had them do a 5-8 man ladder match. They would’ve shut the damn arena down with a 6 man ladder match. I know that for a fact.

This era Jericho and Buff Bagwell got me into WCW. Buff was hilarious. I also loved Raven and the Cruisers. Once DDP took off I was hooked on WCW.

God tier midcard WCW was my jam as a kid. It’s just sad that old man ego island in the main event left them stuck there until they all left.

5:02 Brian Zane: "I would gladly vote for a presidential candidate who promised a federal ban on glitter". Well, Zane, I hate to "shatter" your "dreams" but Dustin Runnels might disagree with you, especially when he brought back his "golden" persona at Judgement Day: In Your House on October 18, 1998. :)

The rivalry with Chris Benoit as a whole I really feel helped both develop and elevate Booker T as a single.

Needs to be said on every 97-98 wcw review at this point: how do you mess up sting so badly?

He was the 2nd hottest babyface behind Austin. 98 should’ve been stings best year… instead it was his most disappointing. Crazy to say sting held the tag team belts longer than the world heavyweight title in 98.

Am I the only one who always winces ( @ 7:12 ) everytime Benoit hits a back superplex and then holds his head in pain (considering Chris Benoit's neck injury in 2001)?

@@BBoy4040 definitely selling but; giving the top rope back suplex or the flying headbutt is a car crash no matter how good your technique is. I don’t wince at the selling but the knowledge of what this repeated sub concussive blows to the head is going to do to him and his family.

@@allenfenwick6257 You got a point, Allen. However, the selling looked too good. I was worried because of Benoit's 2001 injury and do we really need to talk about what happened in 2007?
