Intel next 14nm is Ocean Lake. The CPU is watertight and cannot be delidded. The platform can have 12 times as many soldiers and has double the power draw. 100C which allows for cooking of steaks. Im actually interested in the 10700k much easier to cool probably.

4600MHz just like that... wow. I think the highest you can get an 4 DIMM z390 is like 4570MHz. I got that to boot on a formula XI but hell you need time that it just not crash in like 1 minute idle. 4533 is kinda possible for benchmarks, but sadly no 24/7. the Boards just freak out if you do over 4400MHz. i switched between 4400 and 4410MHz forth and back and you can boot better but stability is just gone.

I have the 10900K on an Asus Z590-A with a Noctua NH-D15 massive air cooler. It is so large, I only had room for the middle fan. Running at 5.2 GHz temps barely reach 80C. CPU fan is set for full speed. The Noctua cooler is the best I’ve ever used. Literally crushes every other air cooler I have used. Obviously some good silicon because even running an auto overclock it boosted 43%. Crazy. Of course, using auto overclocking is boring………so nixed that. I’ll see how far I can go on 1.35v before backing off for case installation. Then I’ll do the memory 😊

39.10 The max geekbench current draw was 31.74A during stream copy at 37:22. This corresponds to a VRM input power of 380.88 W, and an estimated CPU power of 342.8W (with a VRM efficiency of 90%. It's likely a littly higher). However this was only at one point of the test: The current in GB was more often around 22A, spiked into the 30's very briefly a few times and it dipped to 7A frequently. As you said CB was a pretty constant 31.5 - 32.5 A (340 W to the CPU) which explains the higher temps. It may have throttled at 100 degrees, but the current stayed constant.

Hello Buildzoid! I need your opinion. A few minutes ago I wrote a long message to you, but my light was turned off, it was gone, now I have to formulate it shorter. Can I run this kit of memory (www.gskill.com/qvl/165/299/1580449585/F4-4000C15Q-32GTRS-Qvl) stable with 10600K (yeah, not 10900K) on Asus Z490 Extreme? This model is in the list of compatible ones both on the RAM website and on the Asus website. But I saw your video about high-speed sets of RAM, you said that they are not stable, that there may be problems with the cpu's memory controller. But this video was shot 2 years ago, now a lot has changed, right? For me, the speed of RAM does not matter much, but for me, timings and latency are important. In another video of yours about the basics of overclocking RAM, you suggested a formula for calculating latency: frequency / primary timing and what value is greater, that memory set is better. So, this set combines low timings at a high frequency, but the voltage is 1.5V .. I'm worried about the stability of the system, especially in conjunction with 10600K. If this memory kit is not stable, I will choose 3200/14 and be happy. Yes, I know that 4000/15 is very expensive, but now it's not about the cost, but about the stability of the system.

Im not buildzoid: But the 12 phase should have, compared to a dubbled 7 phase, better transients, also since it's using that 16 phase XDPE132GSC controller. there are functions for turning of individual mosfets if you dont need the current handling. Current blancing per face etc. The dubbled 7 phase is probably good enough but you've reached the point of minimal gains with more phases when comparing "14" to 12.

It could be a power delivery issue if the cores just drop frequency like that without hitting thermal limit. i7s are more power hungry than i5s due to the additional threads, but not by much. But first check the following: -Check that the motherboard BIOS is updated -Check that the BIOS is running on default settings -Windows power plan -> Minimum processor state -> 100% -Set RAM to XMP (or whatever speed it used to run stably at) -Make sure no other programs are in the background when running benchmarks where possible And see if the problem persists.

They would definitely have a hard time hitting 5.0 on 10 or 7nm, unless EUV removes a lot of random from computational lithography for them, so my guess is they're going IPC first.

They did improve the cooling efficiency but man the power draw. There’s nothing can fix that with that 14nm node.

@@jayden974 yeah but the PSU may need to be upgraded with these stupid power draws. To be fair, efficiency is actually the same as Coffee Lake per voltage, just there are more cores and Intel is shipping them with higher clocks now.

@@jayden974 is not so much the cost of the power, it's the heat it generates. That degrades components and has to be removed into the room you are sitting in. It gets unpleasant. My current 3700X system is nice and cool, much nicer for long gaming sessions. My old system used to cook me!

As someone with a 3900x I'm okay with admitting that 10900k performs better in gaming. I did pay 100 dollars less though so price performance I made out good.

Yeah, but to be fair it does still outperform Ryzen for those who want 1440/240hz or some other stupid framerates, but the 10600K is still somewhat promising.

Agreed and move beyond 1080p where CPU frame rate differences are hardly noticeable.
