Friend asked me to make some music for her project. I did a rambling piece of nonsense we both laughed at then decided to try again, accedently came across this via Komplete Kontrol , tried a couple of presets and laid down 4 repeating chords. Bang, 10 minutes later along with some cello and violin. I was done

12:14 had to go shut the house down. Lock doors, turn off lights, chase the cats off the counters, you know... And what echoed through my head? A layer of percussion on top of this, please please be there!? Timpani rolls, Slaps, wood block clock type emphasis. This comes close to the orchestra instrument where you build all the layers of the orchestra, directing the sway between the sections. It will come and be glorious fun. Take Bach string section, layer on top of Mozart woodwinds, mold both to be a grand third creation.

Sooooo I quite liked the idea of blending between a few sounds based on mod wheel position and thought it'd be quite easy to do in Max for Live. So if anyone's interested, here's a quick device: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1yJTFDKWtTUdRdqqLO23yxhJOIv77VTpL?usp=sharing I'll probably make a video on it soon, but the basic gist is: put it on 3 chains in an instrument rack or 3 audio tracks, choose the right layer from the drop down menu and you should be good to go :)

What is this "modular system" you referred to at 23:09?
@SeleDreams3 жыл бұрын
ngl a lot of these instruments are included in komplete but i'm not sure to understand the point when we can't really play the notes we want with them at least for full music composition and not ambient stuff

It's a slightly different way of looking at an instrument I guess. I mean bjork used an entire preset sequence from the wavestation as the main hook so whatever works.

sadly you can just layer on top like 1 plus 2 plus 3 - and not with an smaller custom set area freely morphing throw the layers like in heavyocity novo, forzo, vento, mosaic series, etc.
