Styx could do a whole channel on psychology of the self/motivation/meaning and it would be worth more than the usual self-help material out there because of the trademark honesty and the absence of any kind of pretense. This is one I'll save, revisit, and mull over while I do mindless tasks. It feels like there are formative ideas here

My mom's really sick and I take care of her because my father's an alcoholic and just yells at her. Some times I wonder what being in control of ones destiny must feel like. I don't know how to snap out of the misery I was given. It's more like a mental mind fuck of a situation rather than a abusive one. I might look into your literature because I'll be honest....I feel like a lost soul that lost his way years ago bombarded by multiple sick family members and addiction galore.

Sean O'Rourke Well I'm sorry to hear that. Not everyone that is an alcoholic is a piece a shit. I went on ancestry dot com and found out that every other Farley family generation that there is a alcoholic problem every other generation going back 200 years to the formation of america. I believe what you have is literally a disease where you can't help the fact you drink more than others. It's actually your genetics and biologist's actually prooves such arguments. I hope you can find self peace one day but from your comment it sounds like you find peace from alcohol.

Sean O'Rourke That's great to hear that you feel you can overcome your problems. That's a very important step to recovery. Thank you for the friendliness you have shown me. I don't usually bring up family problems to Strangers but like you said...This video hit a special chord with me as well. My father is older and in his early sixties and like the old saying says. You can't teach an old dog new tricks. My mother on the other hand is doing a lot better now that I'm a caregiver. I take care of her 24 7 and feel perhaps that is what I'm best at. I asking care of others. Thank you my friend I wish you the best of luck in the future.

Great vid, Styx. I'm going back through your occult videos, since youtube allows me to view them in succession, unlike your political content. This approach you speak of is generally lost on most secularists and theists. It is much too mundane and pragmatic for the spectrum of ideologues to view as significant. Thanks for what you do. I've been watching since circa 2014, and have found you to be the most accurate talkie out there.

There is no objective truth until we can assess numbers as the building blocks of consciousness, or something furthermore. Can't have an objective truth with an objective measurement. Truth is subjective. Absolute truth is multifarious. Memetics proves this. Before a certain repulse factor is reached, anything that garners memetic advantage is infected unless met with resistance- since we are clearly not all of one mind, in a figurative fashion, we can see that the truth is not able to accessed in a objective way, and only a subjective way- but you can in a subjective way. Bring me the numbers.

I aspire to be as good a speaker As You Are. Your articulation and fluency is awesome. I can articulate pretty well through text but when it comes to actually speaking and trying to convey information in person is very different for me. If you are read something that I typed and then hear me talk, you would think it were two different people. I don't know how to get around this :(
@bradenjlloyd7 жыл бұрын
terry lafauci you just have to start doing it m8. Get a camera and practice reciting your writing every day. Maybe start by just actually reading your writing and getting comfortavle developing a voice, then just use bullet points to remind yourself of your ideas, then eventually just speak off of a topic. It's really just practice anyone can do it. I used to not be able to speak for shit but now I'm the best public speaker I know (among my university peers), spoke on a whim in front of 500 people once. I think very few people who can speak off the cuff were ever actually naturally able to do it. I'm reading christopher hitchen's memoir right now and he speaks about how he had some weird stuttering impediment when he was a teenager and was really uncomfortable speaking publicly or off the cuff, and he basically just beat it out of himself by forcing himself into speaking situations.

Hey man.I've wondered for a while now,do you think the abrahamic god is an egregore and that is why it demands worship because without our belief and our worship it would cease to exist.Just a thought.Also,I should point out I don't believe or disbelieve actual conscious thought forms/entities can be created at all.I'm beginning to believe magick is purely a type of psychological training where,in the case of evocation,you train yourself to project something like a dream character in front of you.So just like a dream character it looks physical and appears to have it's own personality and yet it is purely a creation of the mind and does not exist outside of you.
