I live in Houston, TX. I have caught a Spanish Mac once out from the Gulf of Mexico. It did put up a fight & it was fun to catch! However, mine wasn't as nearly as big as this one you all have caught & fillet! Mac's do taste very well when cooked properly. I have never been to Australia. As a person who has lived in the centre of the country my whole life, I have never set foot in the ocean or even seen it for that matter. I think that being out of the ocean with you would absolutely cure my fear of the ocean. You make it look so fun and genuinely enjoy when others are having fun too and it seems to magnify around the boat. I’ve only ever fished off a dock or on a canoe on a small lake. I feel like fishing on the open ocean is a whole different ball game.

That king mackerel you caught Brodie was a really nice fish filled, nothing but beautiful meat, wow, I'd love to catch one like that and do it up with a bunch of garlic, & a little lemon , I leave all my garlic in the shell's, & put them in all over top my fillets rubbed with Carapelli olive oil . I squeeze out each clove after they're baked soft, that way the garlic doesn't become bitter, a little secret of mine. But for a nice fish like that it's worth the extra work. I Had a blast watching a nice long fishing session with your brother Jacko and your mates! Cheers! Yew!
