Trench's actor voiced Max Payne as well, and his dramatic ramblings through the Hotline are very reminiscent of the narration in the Payne games. (RIP James) And you heard it right, Darling's actor, Matthew Poretta, is the voice of Alan 😊 Remedy likes to keep their actors close, I guess

I gotta say, I really love the vibe and aesthetic they created in Control. It feels very liminal, very cut off from the world. There's always reminders of the "outside", yet we are still locked within this strange building that exists on its own terms. The lore of the Board and the Hiss is so interesting too and I wanna know more! Boss fight was cool!!

This was a great episode!! So much interesting lore, I can't even pick a favourite moment. Can't wait for another episode!

About that note you found in a clearance 1 room with agent's death notice. I noticed something cool, remember in the previous episode you found a guideline on how to talk about death in the bureau and which words to use or not to use. This notice is compiled exactly with the words suggested!! This is an interesting detail 👀

44:00 these are the names of players. Remedy did a little ARG puzzle contest thing prior to the game's release. These were the first folks to solve that puzzle, so they were honoured by having their names put into the game

Damn, Sarah! Good work with Tomassi! First try, no hit! This boss fight presents quite a lot of trouble for MOST players and they die at least once. I myself died here twice, I think :P I became elite at the game later tho 😎 lol

DEAD LETTERS is by far my favorite area of the game, mainly because of all the weird lore lying around. You know the developers were told, 'come up with as many irrelevant and absurd ideas as you can, and we'll lump them all together in one room.' Plus, it's the very first THRESHOLD KIDS video location. And that just tickles my pickle.

Hi, I'd like to point out that Jessie can use telekinesis even if there's no illuminated object nearby, like in that room (41:30). She'll just rip off a section of the floor or wall (literally) to throw at enemies. Sorry if you've already figured it out, I just wanted to write about it before I forgot.

Of all the weird stuff in this game, Threshold Kids may be my favorite (though a certain Darling video is a close contender). The incident at the embasy is real; you can search for Havanah Syndrome for details. They really did chalk it up to a sonic weapon! So, you missed the important point of the Hotline visitor's log. For most of the log, Trench visits every 7 days at 2:45 PM exactly. Then, around 3 weeks ago, he visited at 3:34 _AM,_ and he hasn't visited since (around the 58:00 mark).

I was so waiting for the reaction to The Threshold Kids. Asking who the hell made that nightmare fuel is the right question.

Eric & Sarah, I wanna start by saying you two are some of my favorite gaming content creators/channels. I’m so happy you played Alan Wake and now decided to play Control. It’s official - you have ventured down the Remedy rabbit hole. Always nice to see more people find this studio’s games. Welcome to the family! AW’s American Nightmare is not a must-play to enjoy AW2. Remedy has no plans to remaster it anyway, and I would argue you might enjoy the sequel even more w.o. it. Technically the game is what the sequel was originally going to be so story-wise (so it’s kinda canon) so they share elements. Maybe after your first playthrough of the sequel there might be a spot where you could play/watch it; it’s only 6h depending on play style so it could be done in one stream or 2-3 videos. There’s also a game called Quantum Break, which to my knowledge does not belong to the Remedy Connected Universe, but AW2 has some minor clear references, should you one day want to play that in the future. Then again AW2 has a major reference to Max Payne (as did the 1st game, though a smaller one), but that won’t take away from your enjoyment. If anything it might get you excited for the Max Payne remakes. Anyways, I hope you enjoy the game! All the best!

41:00 By the way, if you check out the whiteboard right next to the radio broadcast tape and take the time to read it, things get even weirder.

Control in the basis is a metroidvania game. You will find many locations that are locked somehow to you. Maybe you dont have key, or power or you didnt reach some point. And later you could go back to them. But have in mind that most of those locations are optional. VERY FUN. I would say that side content can be even better than main path. But you dont have to remember everything. Monstly Map itself will tell you if you been somewhere or not by not showing name of certain place. There is also a lot of secrets. You dont have to look for stuff to catch with telekinesis. You just press the button and Jessy catch nearerst stuff. AND WHEN THERE IS NOTHING TO CATCH... SHE RIP OFF PART OF THE WALL OR FLOOR.

@SidPhoenix22113 ай бұрын
50:50 yeah, Alan Wake IS an older game, but Remedy made Max Payne 1 and 2 before it... They're older games that are WAY more fun to play than AW lol. Age isn't really the issue here. I do like the central idea of AW1's combat, and it can get quite exciting and can be fun. But it simply becomes too damn repetitive. I think that it's serviceable tho. I'd rank Remedy's combat systems as follows: CONTROL > MP1/2 > AW2 (good survival horror combat system. Impactful stuff, but it feels constrained by the game's genre. I can tell that Remedy is obviously capable of far better stuff) > AW (Haven't played Quantum Break) I'm VERY MUCH looking forward to seeing what combat looks like in the Max Payne 1+2 Remake. If they can recreate that original combat system with new tech (especially CONTROL's destructiblity)... We're golden lol

They said that they won't react to them as they wanna go into the game as blind as possible so as to elevate their own experience. The game releases this month anyway, so we're pretty close to release
