Yes a remarkable thing is taking place now. More temples and many locations, it's too bad the people in the United States could not educate themselves more in the scriptures. That way we could have more temples here. No need to worry about them, they are left out in the cold just for now. And that's a shame. They will get a chance once they leave this world to understand more of the savior's work that never ends.

@@stephtimms1776 i googled how much has the church donated on google, and followed the *official church website link* , under the title “Latter-day Saint Charities Boost Efforts in 2020” That is where *they* state the number $2.5billion since 1985. The official church website said it. I understand leaders and PR have stated they donate “almost $1billion annually”, but this actually only happened in 2021… And just so you know, that $1b they stated donating in 2021,(although amazing the members did this) *includes* the work hours of members, in the $1b statement. This can all be read of the *official* LDS website. Is the church website incorrect?

@@mikkifrompreston Shopping malls definitely help people in need of employment. Investements definitely help the Church to maintain funds so that it can continue contributing to good causes without depleting those funds. I almost want to try to explain this to you more, but you seem intent on merely antagonizing. I'll just say this: the modern Church of Jesus Christ manages money extremely well, does enormous amounts of good for people both in terms of money and time spent (and both on a global and local level), and it provides an excellent avenue for people who want to donate money both to support their own religion and to help people in need. Why are you obsessed with accusing the Church of Jesus Christ? You gain nothing from it. Don't you want to be free from such an unhealthy and misguided obsession? The Church will carry on God's work regardless of a few or even many comments on the Internet, but when you continually espouse an accusatory attitude toward an organization that is recognized by so many governments and NGOs as a valuable contributor to society, the poisoned attitude you have has no effect on the Church but it sure is harming you, personally. The bitterness just doesn't do any good for anyone--it only provides you with an unhappy atmosphere. Give it up. If you don't want to be a part of the Church, you don't have to, and either way it shouldn't be a source of consternation for you. Give up the bitterness.

13:37 Great council from President Nelson about rooting out racism. It is a good start from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but much of that can and needs to be done from the inside. Please directly address past policies and doctrine from the church instead of "disavowing" past teachings. While disavowing the reasons taught behind the priesthood ban, the church still teaches the ban was the will of God... and those reasons are still apart of the Pearl of Great Price. I believe The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has so much potential, but past actions, doctrines, policies and scriptures are holding it back.

Hi Jay, A lot of things that God commands us to do, makes sense to us, however there are things that don't make sense to us right now, but that doesn't mean that church policy and things we don't understand aren't just and true. God loves all his children. What would we think if we lived in Abraham's day, but didn't know the outcome of the story of Abraham trying to offer Isaac as a sacrifice, and saw him tying his son to the alter with wood underneath him, etc? Was Isaac inferior, or did God have a good reason to command Abraham to do this thing? God of course stopped it from happening, and a ram was offered instead. The point is, that although we don't know the all the reasons that God does what he does, we can observe some of the results of his commandments. For example, did Abraham and Isaac's faith in, and love for God increase as a result of obeying God's commandments? Was Abraham's offering Isaac up as a sacrifice in similitude of God offering his Beloved Son Jesus Christ, as a sacrifice to counteract the effects of sin, and death? In fact the Book of Mormon reiterates his infinite love for us individually, regardless of race, religion, socioeconomic status, etc. "and he inviteth them all to come unto him and partake of his goodness; and he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remembereth the heathen; and all are alike unto God, both Jew and Gentile." -2 Nephi 26:33 Does that sound like words that come from a racist Church, or that God is being racist when he declares these things in The Book of Mormon? We also know, that in the Book of Mormon God called Samuel a Lamanite prophet to preach the gospel to wicked Nephites. God bless you, and I hope this helps to clarify some misunderstanding.

@@nathanbanks2935 I appreciate the response, but out of respect for this channel, I don't want to get into a debate... wrong place wrong time. Sufficeth it say if I'm to trust a prophet to speak for God and give me his word, I expect that word to be accurate and not subject to the whims of mens opinions. If that is how God works, why can't I just follow my own opinions and conscious?
@nathanbanks29352 жыл бұрын
Hi Jay, Thanks for your response. I'm just respectfully disagreeing with you. I'm not suggesting that we have a heated debate over any issues, especially over things that have to do with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and things that I hold near and to my heart. I disagree, but I am trying not to be disagreeable in my conduct, and character towards other sons and daughters of God who believe differently than me. I misunderstand things too sometimes, and I try to take correction and advise that others give me with love and respect, even if I don't want to follow their advise, or don't follow all of the advise. It's certainly up to you whether you want to follow the leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter Saints or not. I respect your agency. Take care, and God bless you!

@@Telavian the Lord's church is never wrong because he leads God's prophet in the Church and if you dispute that you're on the wrong side of the Lord. The Church of Jesus Christ is a church with more scriptures than any other Church, because the Lord's word never ends. With a prophet of God and 12 disciples like no other Church in the world. The Lord himself called 12 for some reason don't you think and call a prophet and 12 more for some reason don't you think? Look it up in Matthew. Or maybe just read the Bible and the book of Mormon then there is no disputation among the people or other religions. It really is that simple! Your choice. This is the last dispensation of the world before the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and His Holy Angels in the cloud to receive his people.

No, over time, God gave Noah the know how, he showed Noah what the ark should look like, he taught him how to build it then he left it up to him and his family to build it. The same thing for Nephi, God gave him the know how then Nephi went to work building the ship that would carry him and his family. God gives us the knowledge and instructions then "hands over the reigns" to us.

God the Father loves you so much that He sent Holy Sinless Jesus (His Holy Son) to earth to be born of a virgin.Then, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins. He was in the tomb for 3 days, then Father God raised Holy and Sinless Jesus Christ (Y'shua) to Life! He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, & abominable, and murderers, & immoral persons sorcerers & idolaters & all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire & brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus & put your true faith and trust in Him today and please repent. Will you have a Real encounter with Holy Lord Jesus (Y'shua is His Hebrew Name) and stay in a Genuine relationship with Him daily please?

We have four books of canonized scripture… The Bible, The Book of Mormon, The Doctrine & Covenants, The Pearl of Great Price. We agree that God dwells in us, thus our becoming the temple of God, but we also believe that actual temples are needed in the world for ordinance work.
@leswalker26392 жыл бұрын
There will always be a need for temples, temples provide important work for The Souls of man. We had them in the past we have them now and even after Christ comes in his glory there will be temples in great need. For all those who don't believe in temples and other things, you need to study the scriptures. The Lord has gone to prepare many kingdoms or mansions for each of us and there's kingdoms within kingdoms even the celestial Glory even the terrestrial and telestro and many many more because the Lord's work never stops. Just because we are different does not mean we are all perfect. This is why it is necessary to know the truth and the Lord's words so we can gain more knowledge which will be better for each of us whenever we leave this world. Humble ourselves with a broken heart and a contrite spirit when we repent, so we all may have joy. Temples are simply for the ones that want to learn more and the mysteries of God. We all have choice in the matter, either you do it or you don't, that's simple! All is not lost though, you will learn many of these things once you leave this world!

As an atheist/agnostic, I find the expense dedicated to the ritual puzzling. They seem to serve the purpose of glorifying the church and little else imho.
@edwardwatson89372 жыл бұрын
We all do things that are strange to others, but they make sense to us. Indubitably, you spend time and money on something you value that others do not think is important. And that is ok. The Church does temple work because of its unique worldview: It believes in the importance of the human family - not just the nuclear unit, but in the entire species as a whole. Temple work is the establishment of bonds designed to unite us as a species with God so that we can ascend to the next level of evolution, one where we become immortal and share in Christ's rule over the universe. That is the entire point of temple work and why we spend hundreds of millions of dollars each year on the effort. Further, again, per the worldview, we do temple work as an act of charity since we believe we are giving the dead opportunities they cannot do on their own without the possession of a physical body. No one gets paid to do it, we serve willingly. Does it make sense to an atheist or agnostic? Of course not, but it makes perfect sense to those who share that worldview especially since it hits all the critical components of Christ's words that result in a life of meaning: Love God Love your neighbor Love yourself Keep the commandments The older I become, the wiser Christ's words appear to me.
