Never seen a Sleeper Shark that looked so clean and beautiful. Not a single mark on it. No parasites on the eyes. Wow!

I love how molluscs (including cephalopods) lose and gain limbs with relative ease. I suppose that's the advantage of being made o mostly squishy muscle.

I wonder if the giant squid could have 12 limbs, 10 arms and 2 feeding tentacles. At least hypothetically speaking, and maybe it would be called Decopoteuthis Megatron. As October is the 10th Month and December is the 12th Month. Think of it as the blooper from Super Mario Bros but with two extra feeding tentacles.

Not that hard to believe. We only have so much time to observe the deep sea before we must resurface. Not to mention we have to find the thing. GPS tags on animals don't work the deeper we go and not all animals can be tagged, especially fragile deep sea ones. Most of the time divers just have to hope they get lucky at finding anything at all, let alone finding the same specimen multiple times. The ocean is also massive. 3 times the surface area and more than 10 times the volume of all land on the planet, and we still discover new things on land all the time.

it's a squid though, that's why it's unique. it's born with 10 appendages. as it grows, two of those are absorbed back into the body. so it's still a squid, it just appears different. this was explained within the first minute of the video, hope this helps :-)

All squid have only 8 arms. The extra 2 appendages are tentacles. There is a difference between arms and tentacles.
