Yes! I remember how frustrating it was when I was first learning how to assemble it. It's definitely a fun thing to bring out at a party. Everyone thinks it will be easy based on appearances, and then they inevitably wind up struggling a bit.

These puzzles work amazing being die-cast Magnesium/Aluminium on Kapton internal insulators with Neodymum magnets (these holds quite well on the Mg-Al alloy molten temperatures) stuck between these Kapton frames. If these made like that they are really savage to disassemble. Centrifugal forces only. For assembly you pack these into the silk handkerchief and twist it ;) edit- magnetic ones that I've explained are almost impossible to disassemble by hand - but they slide together in a blink of an eye. Your variant assembles itself being put into the sliding nylon handkerchief. I've seen the same puzzle that you've demonstrated made of iron-bark in Holland it some early 1900s. They assembled nice being carefully wrapped in silk handkerchief. edit2 - you cup your left hand with the handkerchief laying on the circle formed by your thumb and index finger. Wrap up around these free tails after you'll fit the base. Twist that handkerchief up letting it almost fly...
