the way the pin is put into the "light" half... I'm wondering now if the trick to opening it easily again would be to get it in front of a light source and looking through the crack to find the pin as the first reference point (seeing as how the light should reflect off of the "dimple" differently), then from there you could find the other reference points simply by knowing exactly where the pin is. Still has the dexterity element though.

Wow.. didn't get a notification and now I'm really late.. but luckily within the 5 or is it 7 day's? So, all is well there 😁😜 Your intro.. again loving the style and thinking process of it! Round like the earth and surrounded by the elements, and the type of music? Fantastic! Truly my compliments, great work! But that puzzle.. I think I would have melted it! A piece of torture! Period. 😁 And I wished I was kidding but I'm not, so truly my respect for the patient, the way you explained it and Mr. P did, I on the other hand loved.. Trying to understand it is a game on itself and yes, I can't learn from books so I love the way you grab a pen and paper and start drawing to figure it out, like the mental note along the way 👍 But with this one, how cool and aesthetically pleasing to the eye she may be... She indeed would have ended up in a medieval kiln before solving! Pfft 😁

I have no idea how you have so much patience with these. After 30min I'd be taking a cutting wheel to it and calling it a success
