The actors who played Pam and Angela said that Steve DID know they were gonna do this tribute for him, BUT he was not apart of rehearsals so he didn’t know how it’d be performed exactly and those were some of his genuine first time reactions.

It's been like 20 years bro. Can't even remember their names and one of their characters has the same name as them lmao. Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsley respectively.

AFAIK, some suits at NBC didn't like Carrell so his contract was never renewed. He wanted to continue but read the room that people on the hill don't want him there and he was already big enough of an actor by that time to comfortably let the role slip.

Scrubs deserves more respect. The final season was a great one with all of the original cast returning. Then the creator wanted to make a spinoff but the network made them release it as the next season of Scrubs. The spinoff could've done well if it had been a released as a spinoff
